Seriously Wanyama was clearly in need of a game to dust off the rust before getting back to the pace of the premier league. Im sure Jos would benefit greatly too as he maybe needed sooner rather than later. used to be common practice to do this, but not anymore.... Wanyama could have cost us the game on Saturday. why do we not do this these days?

Hope we can bring in a decent striker, not easy this time of year but would give us a big boost. Sad osvaldo has not worked out but he hasn't really worked on and off the pitch. done well to clear the dead wood which frees up wages. Would like to have seen punch stay or again, replaced with better.

Di marzio is usually reliable and very well connected. Let's hope that offer is true and we can replace.

What a fin idiot. Poch must feel so let down, he and cortese took a gamble with this signing.... Looks like it has backfired spectacularly. oh well at least he did it in a transfer window, probably only be able to get a loan mind....

Post Match Reaction: Sunderland 2-2 SAINTS
doggface replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Disappointed not to win after a dominant 1st half where we excellent. They were lucky as **** to get the 1st goal with their 1st shot. Dejan I think not up with play. Credit to dagenham & redbridge in the 2nd half, they were always going to push for the equaliser but credit to saints for digging deep instead of folding. A point away in the bpl is not a bad result but we should have seen it out. The hysteria at the result well ott, wet fannies galore. Gaston looked terrible but brown does win the ball, his momentum takes him through studs up on gastons ankle. As much as I want to call brown a **** I just think it was a bit unlucky and clumsy at worst. No intent. Season ending for gaston for sure, not sure what's wrong with dejan but oxegen looked bad. proud of the lads -
CORTESE - a personal and factual view of why Ms Liebherr was right.
doggface replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
We will never find out the whole truth obviously. I support KL as of now but respect and disrespect cortese in equal measures. surprised many are questioning if we are for sale. IMO it is a near certainty but kl will not bash down the castle before giving up the keys for a pricely sum this summer. -
Great statement, If she had said nothing there would have been more speculation and i would have expected sales. There will be no fire sale now and i dont expect any in's and out's.
-
fwiw I don't think mlt is making this up, i think he is just not expressing what he has heard particularly well. He does know people who would hear whispers, that much is obvious. Whether those whispers are correct are not is another thing altogether. Obviously alot of what he has posted has not come off, but I would not rule out what he has said as an impossibility.

Mauricio Pochettino staying as Southampton manager - Official
doggface replied to Ashley Grute's topic in The Saints
Probably best news #saintsfc could have expected at this time. Great that MP has stayed loyal for now, but more talks need to happen with owner. An interesting few months awaits, if no statement comes from the club shortly about the future direction, then a sale becomes more "when" than "if". Not that that would necessarily be the end of the world. -
Benali and Le Tissier welcome anywhere in SMS

Good to hear. The fractions were now so deep it was never going to be fixed under Cortese. Surprised there were not more leaks of this impending news though Duncan....surely that would have raised alarm bells? -
‘Remisier king’ Peter Lim to buy Southampton FC?
doggface replied to Singapore Saint's topic in The Saints
Get rid of one Wang and another one joins. Priceless...... -
Oh and not to mention he will collect a substantial sum if he brokers a deal with new owners (in the millions)
-
Bad news and hope the issues whatever they may be can be resolved quickly. Obviously something in this, but at the end of the day he was never going to stay forever. Just hope the keys would be handed over to a decent figurehead and potential owners. if this is the end he has done a great job.

Fancy us to Win 1-0

£30 million for for Luke Shaw should we take it?
doggface replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
£30 mill a no brainer for me. I would drive him up there for that, and I live in canada. -
Which one, the left or the right? (ripping lallana's ballsack makes Jonas's night)
-
Sounds like Boruc will start to me from watching that. Poch no good at poker
-
Yep plenty of decent players at Chelsea I would take in a heart beat. Probably the only way I would be up for selling shaw in jan. lukaku would bite your hand off De Bryne Ba perhaps though he has dodgy knees
-
Strong team, stronger than we all thought. Good to see, hope glass shaw gets through unscathed. Big game for the cb's jos especially. Coyr
