Exactly. Ronaldo is arguably best or 2nd best in the world, it took him a season or 2 to truely deliver. Now I don't think gaston will ever be that good, but Jose fonte thinks he could be. my point is gaston has bags of ability but we have to give him at least another season to develop. If he does we could potentially have one of the most exciting young attackers in the league.

I make those figures nearly £33k per week? Anyways I was told in the summer by someone who works in payroll that his basic is £38k pw. At 38k pw I would definitely give him another year, no doubt. If actually £80k (IMO total horse ****) then I would certainly consider getting rid if a deal suited all parties. my hunch is he will stay, but if true he is not settled then he could well be angling for a move and getting agents to spark stories.

That was Nigel's downfall imo. In both League 1 and Championship, once we got in the league we often sat back and defended. It often worked (**** strikers), it sometimes didnt - there were alot of heart in the mouth moments and thankfully Kelv is good at 1 on 1's. Nigel clearly though this would work in the prem. That for me was the beginning of the end.

I think the reason adz has got the armband is because he is an academy player and a statement of the "southampton way" I would have Lambert as skipper, he is our talisman. Adz has had a very mixed season, was very poor last week (did not see the game today thank god), but also had some great games. He has had a lot of niggles and his season has been stop start.
