Redmond injury prone????
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nathan-redmond/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/129078/verein/1123 - hmm can't see where his injuries are, so wonder whether it is just you spouting "an incorrect opinion"?
In this day an age, a forward signs a 4 or 5 year contract for £30m and expects £70k+ a week. £2m loan fee and £100k a week makes "sense" in this madness we find ourselves in.
I am happy with £8.5m - I find it all so depressing that everyone is splashing out such ridiculous sums, and that others (a lot here) think it a lack of "ambition" that we aren't joining in but have "only" bought 3 players in at £11m, £12.8m and £16m!!
JRod is the interesting one. If he can perform like he did 2013/14 then brilliant. But that might be a very big IF. Certainly the cameo on Saturday was encouraging, but....
OK fair enough - maybe that one, but at the time of signing was he better? That is what I am on about, before us developing which is where the money is to be made. But Lallana/Classie? Mané/????. Clyne/Cedric?
FF, of course we are less strong. Even if you can compare like for like player wise, the likes of Liverpool aren't going to pay us £35m for a player that is inferior to one that we pick up for half that price as they can just go and do that themselves and by-pass us completely.
I agree with you Art. The medical team seriously need to upgrade their crystal balls as it is appalling that it couldn't pick up and identify JRod falling badly and buggering up his knee 2 years after he signed for the club.
Isn't one of the biggest problems their boots studs, blades or whatever they are? It may help you turn, stop etc, but not much good if it is going to bugger up your knee. Have no idea whether hybrid pitches also have an effect or not.
So Fonte gets his agent to talk to another of his clients to float a rumour or two, with the club not receiving a bid and hey presto, a £1.3m pay rise materialises. Is that about the sum of it?
