  1. Probably eh - you didn't go yourself then? If so, slightly ironic.
  2. Last time we made the play offs we were 5 points behind the team we caught (Preston) with 3 to play, and we didn't even have to rely on our superior goal difference in the end. http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2006-2007/table/2007-04-20 Prior to Tuesday we had a reasonable chance. No we have an outside chance and still a chance. Things could look very different if Stockport get something tomorrow.
  3. Good idea - let's all go as Alpine Saint
  4. Agreed - in those fixtures we only picked up 3 draws so it's still possible..... just.
  5. Pardew out anyone?
  6. That's what I think - when the fixtures first came out I thought our easiest run was the last few games. And we'd then be going in to the playoffs with 11 wins in the last 12. Probably our hottest streak of form in over 100 years. If we win on Tuesday we will be very well placed.
  7. Not sure I agree with this - we were well established and the move to St Mary's cemented this. We hadn't finished below 12th in the previous seasons since moving to the new stadium - and that was 14 points above the relegation zone and after having been 4th during the season.
  8. Lew Chatterley A few games and caretaker between Branfoot and Bally http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lew_Chatterley
  9. The only time I have left early was the previous round that year. We were six nil up against Luton and I was 3rd in the queue for the White Hart Lane tickets. The ticket office wouldn't start selling till the final whistle! You never know....
  10. We decided to walk from our Hotel to Waterloo this morning, to clear our heads after a fantastic day and great evening. As we passed St Paul's we noticed a single white balloon on the steps - which obviously called for a brief game of 'keep it up' - only to discover on the first kick that it had the club crest on the other side! I have a feeling that there will be quite a few Saints balloons in London over the next few years.
  11. For the avoidance of doubt, I confirm this was an attempted joke.
  12. Every proper club is built on its fan base. If Saints had gone completely bust last summer I have no doubt we would have been back at our natural level well within a generation. MKD are unique in having stolen someone else's club (or league position anyway) and moved it to an area with no football supporting tradition in the hope of making a nice profit. PW might well be a great bloke but I hope his business continues downwards through the leagues until they reach the natural level of MK to discourage similar ventures in future.
  13. Paine v Lallana anyone?
  14. I wonder if they have thought of a few thousand concrete fans?
  15. Having watched it a few times he must be talking about Fonte 'bringing down' the Leeds player. I think the pictures are quite clear. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/javaImages/e0/4a/0,,10280~8669920,00.jpg
  16. Went to both those games and thought about it on the way home last night. I was trying to think of the last time a Saints team, all 11 players, had played so fantastically two games running. Jason Dodd's first two games I think, and possibly Benali's first run in the side?
  17. Pretty sure that makes them one of the newest. Last in, first out.
  18. Notts County at home, just before Christmas in 1991 I think. Ruddock ran the length of the field to 'get involved', ****ing his head back as he passed the half-way line, to land a a fearsome headbutt on..... the wrong bloke. Branfoot's finest hour.
  19. Was the dog show arrest at the 5-0 victory against Blackburn in our promotion season? It was around then. I remember it being very funny, especially when he did the lap of honour and I realised that it was...... my uncle!
  20. Not sure if it has screwed up since but I initially thought this when I booked online a few weeks ago but then spotted that the "adult" option also had something like "adult season ticket holder" which gave the right discount.
  21. Barclays put us in administration, not Lowe.
  22. Third (excluding play off finals) after Notts County and Cardiff, both of which went up as Champions....
  23. When Saturday Comes The article is complete rubbish though. I think the journalist went straight to the press box, didn't speak to any fans and didn't do any research whatsoever. In short we used to be in the premiership, we should never have left the Dell, now we are in league 1 and everything is a disaster. Apparently our owners must regret splashing out on a carpet with SFC written in it now. Coz, as we know, we are really strapped for cash at the mo.
  24. On a related theme, have you noticed that all the ads around the ground are gradually being replaced by Saints crests, including on both sides of the scoreboard. I presume they are not too bothered about selling at any price coz they know they will get lots more shortly....
  25. I hadn't really noticed this until the Norwich game on SaintsPlayer but the commentary for our equaliser really was utter crap. Whoever did it should find himself another job.
