  2. Seaborne for Harding according to BBC
  3. And he won't be able to play for them either.
  4. That's what he said in the post-match interview.
  5. Oh yes we can, and with money stolen from the poor British taxpayer.
  6. True, except for Fratton Park.
  7. You don't subsidise people by not stealing money (taking taxes) from them, the same way that you're not subsidising them by not charging them for the air that they breathe.
  8. But there was no longer the horrendous cost of maintenance.
  9. An opinion is not a fact. Fact

  11. These would be necessary, prudent and unpleasant, measures whoever was running the club.

  13. At Spurs the fans thought he was so bad that he became a standing joke amongst them.

  15. A true gentleman. I met him once when I was a student at Cambridge. I was walking back from the engineering labs with my mate when this Hillman Hunter estate pulled up and the white-haired fellow inside leant over and asked us if we knew the way to the Union. I started to explain but my mate said it was on our way and it would be easier if we jumped in so off we went. He was speaking at a debate later that evening. My mate later said that he only suggested getting in the car because he recognised the driver and couldn't remember his name. I'd never heard of him at the time, ignorant youth that I was.

  17. I must stop sunbathing naked in the garden.
  18. They would get lots of other clubs (and businesses) paying what they owe. A high-profile club just cannot be allowed to continue trading, buying and selling players, taking money from the public, without paying over the VAT, PAYE, NI that the taxpayer is due.
  19. That would make sense. A Company should not have special legal status unless it is trading legally and paying its taxes.
  20. If I went to Cossack-land my assets would soon be frozen. Interesting point though, about assets that have been frozen by the Law. I would guess that it would depend on the reason for them being frozen in the first place and a Court could conceivably order their release to settle outstanding debts. Any expert views out there?
  21. Who paid the bill?
  22. I was told that there were two types of people. Some of them have an extra gene that makes broccoli (and sprouts) taste bitter, whilst those people who are deficient in this gene think that it tastes nice.
  23. Nice pictures, but I can't see my house!
  24. Nothing worse than broccoli, IMHO.
  25. Thanks, St. Landrew. I've just got back and it's great to see the goals.
