  1. £14m is a crazy figure. £6m or £7m is a realistic price with very little prospect of any returns on that for at least the next few seasons.
  2. I can't argue with that. It looks like sloppy journalism then?
  3. "Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment" - Jim Horning
  4. Even Alan Hansen concedes that there are times when you just have to 'launch it'. After all, nobody ever scored from the Royal Box. And another thing.... why do the centre-backs pass the ball back to the goalkeeper just so that he can boot it downfield? Are they too embarrassed to do it themselves?
  5. Would any sell-on clause be valid if one of the parties were no longer trading?
  6. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but what laurels would these be?
  7. Possibly, so long as I had a right of veto.
  8. Now, now, Nick, you know perfectly well that once a bid has been proven and is acceptable to all parties then it must be put to the vote on this forum for final acceptance.
  9. I think that some people saw administration as the only way of getting rid of Lowe, which is why they were calling for it. We can all agree thet we are seriously up the creek and try as I may it's looking more and more difficult to see a way to get back to where we all feel we belong.
  10. Post #7 methinks?
  11. Does that imply that the return of Lowe tipped us into administrtion?
  12. But they might as well lease it to someone who wants to play football there. It would be extra revenue.
  13. If playing a load of kids were the answer then every team would be doing it.
  14. If Wotte stays then we really are deep in the doggy-doos, if it's not bad enough already.
  15. I agree entirely, FWIW
  16. And here we can agree.
  17. You're right about Lowe's attitude, but there was a lot of concern at the time that if the south-west corner of the motorway intersection were to be developed then the other three would soon follow. Add to that the locals' concerns about parking and 'hooliganism' and there were enough negatives that when the present site was proposed everybody breathed a sigh of relief. There were a lot of concerns from the Town Centre about a big retail development just a mile down the road.
  18. There was no chance that the stadium would ever have been built at Stoneham. It would have filled in the 'strategic gap' between Southampton and Eastleigh. Perversely, the proximity to the M27 also counted against it. The car park was originally mooted at 6,000 spaces, later reduced to 3,000, but even that figure would have led to queues of nearly two hours to get out of the ground.

  20. It's keeping me in suspenders.
  21. We've been doing that all season. Paying good money to watch a load of impecunious, over the hill, unforunates run around a bit.
  22. Have they been washed? (I only ask because it affects the value)
  23. If we all did that then what would we talk about? Old women like a good gossip now and then.
  24. Thanks Derry. In your opinion, would that mean that the club would never have been itself in administration and would not have benefited from the administration of the PLC, and hence no sanction?
