  1. our home game against Hull has been rearranged for the evening of Tuesday 20th February at 19:45. I can go to this one 😁 https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/hull-fixture-given-new-date
  2. You get used to it 😢
  3. It’s yet another example of blind faith in technology.
  4. What day does tonight’s game start?
  5. I shall be out of the country for the next round so at least I shan’t miss this game, but I would like to get through.
  6. Away to Watford
  7. We are number 10
  8. Once in every twenty or thirty games.
  9. I never wear them.
  10. I hate it. Too methodical and slow. No desire or passion. It’s as exciting as watching a competitive embroidery contest. Nothing to get the pulse racing, except when we take needless risks at the back in an effort to show off.
  11. Our unbeaten run would have been longer if we hadn’t concentrated so much on pissing around at the back and actually tried to score a few more goals.
  12. https://talksport.com/football/1698156/fa-cup-fourth-round-draw-live-2024-date-time-channel-numbers/ “The ceremony will be televised as part of ITV’s coverage of Manchester United's trip to Wigan, with build-up to that game starting at 7:30pm on ITV1. talkSPORT will also have live coverage of the balls being drawn on the Monday at 7:50pm.“
  13. About 7:50 pm.
  14. 5th round is Feb 28th they are midweek games 🤬
  15. Then nobody would every try to score a goal. Why bother when all you have to do is aim for a defender’s arms? That’s a lot easier.
  16. I watched the replay again. Don’t be such a pedant.
  17. They’re not even making this year’s kits.
  18. If he wants passes like that then he’s an idiot. There’s a very old maxim that goes “never pass across your own goal area”
  19. You will also be unsurprised to learn that such figures are total bollocks. Whatever they are supposed to mean. We are playing football here, not Top Trumps.
  20. We saw a comment from a critic about this a few years ago. He called it “a mumblin’ and a grumblin’ and in our house it’s been that ever since.
  21. In my days in television research we mentioned this and we’re told that the adverts were never louder than the loudest part of the programme. Of course, all adverts used sound that is compressed upwards.
  22. Could be anybody to be fair. Might even be me 😳
  23. With still wines it is of course easier to have various bottle sizes but where the process relies on secondary fermentation more investment is needed. We have traditionally visited a vineyard near Chenonceaux in summer for some of my wife’s favourite Touraine Sauvignon Blanc and they do a very drinkable fizzy that we have with our extended family on Christmas morning with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. https://www.pereauguste.com/en/product/methode-traditionnelle-blanc-brut-ou-demi-sec/ Sadly now that I am on my own such visits have lost their main purpose.
  24. There are wines other than Champagne. Almost all are preferable.
