  1. Wanting to play for us does not imply loyalty. These are professionals and everything revolves around money. McCarthy would have gone elsewhere if a better offer came along. That ain’t gonna happen so he stays with us.
  2. Brilliant! But strangely fascinating 😳
  3. As mentioned in The Times this morning, Just imagine if she had sprawled across the benches in the same way that Jacob Rees Mogg did, or rather, just imagine JRM sprawled across the benches showing his bare stockinged legs. I'll leave you with that thought...
  4. Bonjour Henri, Nice to hear from you. I visited Guadeloupe once for a day. We rented a car and drove to Deshaies and had a coffee and beer in Catherine's bar from 'Death in Paradise'. All very interesting, much like the south of France.
  5. And Virgil van Dijk of course, playing at Everton for Liverpool.
  6. If we are to rely on McCarthy then we are doomed
  7. Gascoigne, Jagielka, Francesco Totti... My heart goes out to the lad. He's got a lot of work ahead of him.
  8. That could be down to fasting in Ramadan.
  9. Only in disciplinary matters, not in the normal function of the game.
  10. Really? No water or food from dawn to dusk. And the further north you go the longer the daylight lasts. Rich Froning doesn’t say anything about not taking in fluids.
  11. That was some way off being a penalty.
  12. There should be a law against him.
  13. There should be a law against that sort of thing.
  14. He’d play them on the left.
  15. Just out for the rest of this season then.
  16. But going 2-0 up in the second is ok?
  17. Ouch Wait for the swelling to go down a bit and hope for the best.

    Russia

    They’ve got thousands of ‘em.
  19. I think Ramadan might have something to do with it. Maybe he has been affected more than others.
  20. Just for you I undeleted my recording and watched it again, and very painful it was too. Yep, just outside the six yard line and the clearest foul you could ever see but still nothing that Forster could do about it. The presence of Cork was crucial.
  21. I think it just got confused by the goalkeeper getting in the way. Technology isn’t perfect.
  22. “Pony and trap” Rhyming slang for crap. Only ever used by those pretending to be cockerneys

    Russia

They killed thousands of Ukrainian civilians and now they’ve started on their own.
  24. Ian Whittell in The Times doesn’t agree with you. I wouldn’t qui Go as far as him and I though Forster might have done better with their disallowed effort but he did have two opposition players right in his face with no defenders anywhere to be seen. “Two first-half goals would have been far more but for a stunning display from the Southampton goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, and an indifferent one from his outfield team-mates.” ”…and nine minutes later he made an equally stunning goalline save to keep out a Rodriguez header” “…when Rodriguez and Cork scrambled the ball in after another superb Forster save, but VAR ruled it fractionally offside.”
