Great news. Not many better out there.

There you go again. What does it profit you if your house goes up in nominal value? It's still just a house and if it's not sold how on earth is that wealth transfer from the young? You could do the same - all you have to do is buy a house and after 25 years of payments you will own it (if you live that long). In reality pensions have not ballooned, rather to the contrary. Once taken a pension will not balloon it will stay fixed. 'The people you rely on to keep you fed, healthy and warm.' ? I'm not sure where you get that from. On the one hand you complain about somebody having a pension and on the other you complain about having to feed, heal and clothe them. The elderly could just as easily complain about all the young unemployed and single mothers on benefits.

Aren't players contracts amortised over the length of the contract? In other words, if we buy a player for, say, £20m on a 4 year contract then their value on the balance sheet will be reduced by £5m a year.

That would seem to be correct. You cannot list something as an asset when there is no guarantee of getting it, if ever.

Don't believe everything you read in the papers. 'A deal worth up to...' does not equate to that amount in the club's bank accounts. Agents' fees?

Our new number 10?

Is that 50 metres?

What's that lump on the back of his right calf?

Another one is for a couple of cha[s in leather jackets to come p to you, flash some sort or ID and then ask to see your passport. When you hand it over they run off with it.

Wonderful news. They just get better and better. From about 18 months on they start to develop their own personality and become individual little people in their own right. Hang in there, my son was eight before I got a complete night's sleep. Last Sunday I had my son and daughter and their seven grandchildren round for a family barbecue. Nothing can beat that feeling. Besides, you're going to need someone to look after you in your old age.

Flammable Cladding and Exploding Fridges

It's more complicated than that, it depends on the conditions of use. If, for example, you had been hanging your underwear on the back to dry it out or you had it standing next to an electric heater then it may well overheat. Having said that, I'm sure that several manufacturers are chewing their fingernails and checking the flight schedules to Argentina. Probably best to wait for the official reports. -

Financially a transfer request means that the player forgoes any loyalty bonus and golden goodbyes.

Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day

We had them on a P&O cruise a couple of years ago. The company thought that they would be so popular that they issued tickets and would only let us go to one of their three performances but I refused to be told where and when I can go when I've paid for an expensive holiday so I didn't bother to see them. On their last show I stuck my head round the door to see what all the fuss was about. They were crap, really crap. Their name is an anagram of Bollarco. -
I'm also too old for all this teenage angstfest business. Does not 'liking' it mean that you don't like it?

The loss of any child saddens me deeply.

5:30 evening games completely bugger up a family's Saturday evening and play havoc with your digestion. 3:00 for me, every time. Enough time to get a few things done in the morning and still keep the evening free. In fact, I hate every other time and especially Sundays. I would be quite happy if no games were ever shown on TV.

The Single Market was Thatcher's great achievement so credit where credit is due.

I'd like to think that we can get a lot better than Yoshida and Stephens has still got a lot to learn about his positioning. -
Won't this give you an extra two and a half hours drinking time?

They were right, to be fair.

And a bit of a bastard because I shall be away. My fault, I hope I don't miss a thrashing.

We were there several years ago on a cruise and visited from Civitavecchia. A Lazio day pass cost around €9 and included all trains (not expresses 'Freccie'), buses and metro. You can buy in tourist offices and outlets but you must remember to validate them on the little yellow wall-mounted printers.

It's not just the fee, there are also the wages to pay. Any deal has to consider both.
