  1. A win and a clean sheet. Luvverly jubberly
  2. For protection. It's an inflatable splint.
  3. Did somebody call? In my opinion TV has too much influence already and I blame Sky as much as anybody. Their so-called analysis just consists of trying to make a controversy out of something that doesn't exist. Football as it exists is a wonderful game but the laws are by their very nature imprecise and depend on an individual making a quick decision and I see nothing wrong with that. From what I have seen of cricket and especially rugby I don't think that the TV referee does anything to enhance the game and only leads to delays and confusion.
  4. Did he get that through having to keep picking the ball out of the net last week?
  5. Some assists are better or more significant others. I have never felt that any were significant unless the ball was laid on a plate for somebody. It's a team game and as long as the team keeps scoring I'm happy.
  6. Thanks It's rough and raining at the moment so I'm thinking of flying back.
  7. Great result! I'm mid-Atlantic at the moment so here's hoping for a home draw next round
  8. Just the one for two yellows. Misses next Wednesday?
  9. Exactly. No good deed goes unpunished.
  10. I like the little seed germs between the two halves.
  11. I picked up an empty crisp packet outside the polling station this morning. Does that count?
  12. Roast monkey nuts please. Or giant peanuts.
  13. Ah, ok. I just remember at the time that it didn't go where anybody was expecting it and they just came rushing straight back at us.
  14. 1. As I remember it the ball got nowhere near their half. 2. I think you are. That was then and this is now.
  15. Me too. The tax credits system has totally distorted the labour market and changes must be made in stages. You can't pull the rug out suddenly from under their feet.
  16. I wonder if he'll be interested in my business? Every man has his price and they don't come much cheaper that me
  17. If we had been able to bring Long on for the last 20 minutes that might haven shaken them up a bit, alas. The papers I read gave him 5 out of 10, which I thought was generous.
  18. They were capable players but if an opposing team started to get on top of them they would resort to all sorts of dirty tricks to try and kill the game. But I do remember one midweek game against Sheffield Wednesday who beat them 2-1 and simply outplayed them with quick, passing football.
  19. They'll always be that. Dirty, nasty, spiteful team under Revie. Not a trace of sportsmanship to be found anywhere. The term 'beautiful game' never applied to Leeds.
  20. I know the feeling
  21. 'All things must come to pass' Matthew 24:6-8
  22. So your daughter has never known a Liverpool league title either?
  23. We can hope. I'm happy with Steks in the meantime providing he's fit.
