  1. Custom and practice? Anything discriminatory due to one of a long list of conditions? As above, proper advice is advised.
  2. But we might draw them in the Champions League.
  3. Tuesday Tuesday
  4. The root cause of all our problems. I'm surprised you can't see that.
  5. 150,000 non-EU students come here every year. 50,000 of them leave.
  6. You forgot to mention that we're busy charging our own students £9000 a year to get trained. Why bother when we can import them cheaper?
  7. Probably reminding his players to waste more time,
  8. This is obvious in TV coverage of a live game. All the inactive time is filled with endless replays and shots of the managers an crowd.
  9. As a ref you'd normally give a warning or two before punishing a keeper for this. The Laws used to say 'about six seconds'. The 'about' has now been removed. A few seasons ago I used to watch this at the Premier level and the average time of possession of a keeper was about twelve seconds.
  10. There's a long-term plan at work here. If Champion League comes this season, all well and good, if not then there's always next season. Panic buys don't fit into that plan.
  11. Yes, I think we have absorbed too many changes at once, nothing beats a settled team. Of course, we did have a rush of injuries to contend with.
  12. Actually, I'm with both of you on this. Economic union, yes please, political union? Probably not.
  13. That depends on your definition of success.
  14. Immigrants get old and sick too and their children need schooling. What you are proposing is one giant Ponzi scheme. What nobody ever mentions is the capital cost of providing all this new housing. Then there is all the necessary infrastructure to go with it - roads, electricity, gas, water supply, sewerage, it goes on and on. Somebody has to pay for all this and if it hasn't been brought into the country with the immigrants, as is the case with countries such as New Zealand, then these costs have to come out of the existing economy. Then some smart Alec will remind us of our commitments to reducing the amount of CO2 we produce.
  15. Both Chelsea goals were deflections. It shows the benefit of having a go once in a while.
  16. Yes indeed, brilliantissimo. It didn't seem to work though, but maybe worth a try.
  17. It clearly doesn't benefit us. (I don't eat Maltesers and I certainly wouldn't expect anyone else to give me theirs)
  18. What the hell are you drinking? You really haven't got a clue what I was talking about. Infrastructure, both physical and social, didn't just appear out of thin air. It was created and developed by those who went before us and nobody has the right to walk in and take it away from us. I'm certainly not going to squeeze up just so that somebody else can stroll in and take the benefits from those who have worked for it.
  19. I've found quite a few mugs on here.
  20. At the start of the season, perhaps.
