  1. That's normally only on the first of the month, before midday.
  2. It usually is a let down. I tend to agree, we're relatively safe, plan for the summer and next season. This is the first time I can remember where we are in a position to give the youngsters some experience of playing in the big time.
  3. Fascinating. Any more details? Location? Video?
  4. Yes indeed. Great lad, great attitude, just not quite good enough for the top level but there's nothing wrong with that.
  5. It's probably for protection. It was originally designed to protect gamekeepers' heads. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/8045026/History-of-the-Bowler-Hat.html
  6. In some ways I feel a bit sad. I desperately wanted him to be good but the d!ckhead has let everybody down.
  7. He invented Dynamite and also owned Bofors. He wanted to be remembered for something other than blowing things up or killing people.
  8. Thanks and good luck.
  9. It's more likely that he was not sure that Brown Hadn't touched it. Still, as you say it's ancient history now.
  10. Brown touches the ball onto Gastón's toe which then kicks it in the direction he's running so although it looks as though Brown only brushes the ball he did momentarily change its direction. It was the follow-through that made it a foul, for me.
  11. Having seen it again, I think Rose catches the back of the player's leg before he plays the ball, which is a foul. He's not running towards goal, however, so a yellow card would have been appropriate.
  12. Borehamstiff we locals called it.
  13. In my day heuristic meant 'suck it and see', or in other words 'guesswork'. I suspect these days it's used to mean 'adaptive'.
  14. Manager. Find someone else to take the blame 0-3 now.
  15. Both bad decisions were down to the assistant. Edit: the offside is more debatable. It's possible that Adebayor got his head to it.
  16. Why does monosyllabic have so many syllables?
  17. Not exactly free. The Academy is quite expensive to run.
  18. Only if you're certain that you have included all the factors.
  19. Then what's the point of the models?
  20. But such models can never be tested except with the real data, and as such can only ever predict past events. (Is there a postdict?)
  21. Not really. I interpret it as saying that the models are adjusted to fit the data and not the other way around.
  22. Wonderful news. It shows that whoever's in charge understands customer service. Worth getting rid of Cortese for this alone
  23. Did I read in the Mail that last night was the only the second time that Arsenal have conceded more than one goal this season?
  24. I heard that it was originally spelt 'Easy'.
