There's an interesting article in The Times's football supplement today about a book called 'The Numbers Game' which a analyses all the questions such as whether a strong defence is better than a strong attack and the importance of possession. Might be worth a read.
It's a bit of journalist's (Tony Evans) speculation. 'Cortese and the trust that owns the club have been unable to reach an agreement to secure the 44-year old's future at the club for next season'.
If Wigan win both then they will have beaten Villa next Sunday so Villa cannot then get more than 40 points. Our goal difference is 11 better than Villa's so we would have to lose by 11 more goals than they do and then it would be down to goals scored. At the moment we have scored 3 more than them. Don't worry about it, relax and enjoy the day.
Good question. It depends on tightening up the defence. When you think about all the extra wins we could have had it makes talk of 8th place not unrealistic.
If Wigan win the next two then they must have beaten Villa on the last day, and Villa are below us now on goal difference. We have a much better GD than Villa by 12 goals or so.
Phew, can I breathe again? Well done Saints, now the real planning can begin. The team that starts next season will look a lot different from the one that started this. The end of season has been a bit of a dreary dribble but a win next Sunday will perk everybody up and we can enjoy the summer with a quiet satisfaction.
When do the tickets go on sale?
When are the fixtures released?
13481 points. My first guess was 37km, the second 11km and then I started getting the wrong countries, Spain instead of Brazil, Norway instead of Finland, Australia instead of USA.
Good little program this, well found!
