  1. At least it stops you rolling out of bed.
  2. As long as nothing else drops. How many in a packet? I think I might need two of them, there again I have to think of my heart.
  3. I was talking to a girl in Atlanta who had never seen the sea. It's only about 250 miles away. Also remember Americans in the middle of nowhere are not going to drive an hour or so to visit the nearest town which is exactly like the one they left and where they don't know anybody. Of course a lot of places are named after places in Europe so if you mention a place name you have to qualify it. I bet if you asked similar questions in China, Russia, Argentina or even Australia you would get some dumb looks.
  4. I might add that every American that I have met has been unfailingly polite and friendly.
  5. Probably ignorance rather than stupidity.
  6. I'd like to see the same questions asked in Birmingham, or Leicester, or Liverpool, or...
  7. The only problem I can see is that the road is full and has been every time that I have ever gone to the ticket office. It was full las Monday morning when I renewed mine.
  8. It used to be something like you can't associate more than 5 PCs with your account. You have to reset and then add your PCs again.
  9. ITV wanted an evening ko I believe. Bit of a nonsense really with two teams from the northwest and finishing too late for the trains back home.
  10. So what's the alternative? Send them out on foot? Are we to have Human Rights advisors sitting alongside the commanding officer? They are suing the wrong people. They should be suing the ones who are blowing them up.
  11. Not going to happen, I'm afraid. The money is needed to pay for the new Wembley.
  12. This is abject nonsense.
  13. Are you two related by any chance? You share the same surname.
  14. Indeed. This incident is also a reminder to us all how dangerous the hard shoulder is. During my dealings with the Highways Agency I was told a couple of figures which I cannot verify. Life expectancy on the hard shoulder is not much more than twenty minutes. I think it's a case that those who had unfortunately been killed on the hard shoulder had been there for less than 26 minutes on average. The rumble strips between the hard shoulder and the near side lane have to be replaced every few months because they are worn out so quickly by vehicles wandering to the left. 15. Thanks to the advance notice on this wonderful forum I was warned in advance and managed to leave Hamble early at 16:50, then through the town centre and up Shirley High Street to North Baddesley and home in Chandlers Ford just after 18:00. Not trusting the traffic we rushed to catch the 18:14 train with a minute to spare. Not a bad show if you like cats.
  16. You have relatives in Nigeria?? Please tell me their bank account numbers
  17. I thought you were predicting that Norwich would be away.
  18. Let me see... Which shall I go to?
  19. Well I read it there first. Did I put Norwich? Should have been Sunderland.
  20. Well make your mind up. Is it Sammy or Samuel?
  21. Away to Norwich. You read it here first.
  22. Oh brilliant! Just when I needed to get home earlier. We're going to the Mayflower tonight. Thanks for the warning.
  23. Exactly. Most other businesses where you paid several thousand pound would offer you a comfy seat and a cup of coffee as well.
  24. No autographs today but a surprising queue. Some people taking a long time apparently moving their seats which I thought was not going to happen until next Monday. I just managed to be in, finished and out again within 15 minutes ( no jokes please, it's not so funny at my age and condition )
  25. I'm sure some (not I) would say that we should lend him to Pompey.
