  1. So, could it be that with our squad we should be top of the table?
  2. Well something has to change, either the manage or the way we play.
  3. They may be winless but they're both above us in the table and they don't leak as many goals.
  4. This is all about Nigel. The only question that matters is whether any replacement would get a marked change in form and fortunes. He has done his job by getting us here, now all that matters is how we move on up. If the management of the club think that he is the man for the long term then they should say so and stick with him. If not, then get someone else in sharpish before it's too late. Sentiment is so last season. (What's that song - 'We're only making plans for Nigel?')
  5. My initial thought is.... so what?
  6. I've never really been impressed by him. Ray Wilkins without the tackles and goals.
  7. Mellifluous
  8. ... for the time being. Cortese is not stupid and will almost certainly have been asking tentatively around. Any chairman of a multi-million business would do the same. I desperately hope for a win on Saturday but not for Nigel's sake.
  9. Not just me then: http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/oddballs/859274-man-united-voted-most-hated-company-in-britain
  10. We don't need to drop out of the League, just tell the players not to bother fighting for any balls, to shirk every tackle, not bother defending, not cover back. Nobody would notice, surely?
  11. Brilliant! Where can I buy a miniature for my mantlepiece?
  12. The best place to hide a book is in a library. Put on your zombie makeup and go to Swindon. Nobody (dead or alive) will ever find you.
  13. Just do a Leeds and play all the also-rans.
  14. To be honest, I was not too hopeful for this season once the window had been shut and I have been resigned to relegation for some time now. Now that we have reached this situation it would need a big turn round in performances to drag ourselves up the table and I can see no sign of that happening with the current set-up. The question then is whether replacing Nigel will achieve enough improvement in performances to rescue us from this predicament and that depends on who replaces him. It won't be pretty but anyone who can tighten up the defence and get back to clean sheets or no more than one goal against might stand a chance. Any takers?
  15. That's what the commentators were saying on Sky. He got away with it though, didn't he?
  16. He was kicking with his right foot because his usual left leg was injured.
  17. Very perceptive. It's all about money and how much is spent.
  18. It's a very big step up to the Premiership and we have tripped up on it. We are miles away from the likes of Everton, Spurs, Newcastle, and not even in the same league as those at the top of the table. We may have spent £30m but that's less than a third of what's needed to buy a Premiership team. What we have are a load of players who are of upper Championship standard. I was pleased that we won a lot last season but hardly jumping for joy over the prospect of this because all I could foresee was regular embarrassing thrashings.
  19. They're all Championship level players, Ramirez excepted.
  20. The only question is who we replace him with.
  21. He'll be good in the Championship.
  22. It was a big jump and we aren't good enough to make it.
  23. No positives, just one negative. We lost.
  24. It's stretching the term 'invaded' somewhat. They've even included the odd piracy raid.
  25. 2/10. Nice effort. Must try harder. I shall reserve further comments until after tomorrow evening, if I may.
