  1. Both looked full to me.
  2. The players held up a tinpot cup and those at the front of the mob cheered. From about 10 minutes before the end of the game there was a small table just outside the players' tunnel with a red cloth on it. The writing was something like 'Npower going up' The tinpot cup was standing on this table.
  3. Real fans, real football. If only the media could appreciate what a priceless treasure we have in our lower leagues.
  4. Same footage but more info on this commentary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXAdr3bQnaw Apparently it hadn't flown for 10 years.
  5. We ate at a 3-star one in the Auvergne near Laguiole - http://www.bras.fr - which was quite an experience, especially as somebody else was paying. 4000 feet up in the hills watching the sun go down was rather pleasant. I used to organise exchange football trips to brittany and some of the local restaurants that our hosts chose were unforgettable, especially when you consider that they were catering for over a hundred guests. Also: 'Le Coq Gadby' in Rennes was good. 'Jules Verne' up the Eiffel tower is also good, especially when someone else pays.
  6. Have you tried the companies direct? Often there is somebody who acts as historian, possibly someone who is now retired.
  7. As the Duke of Wellington said of the Battle of Waterloo: "It has been a damn nice thing-the nearest run thing you ever saw..." But it could so easily have turned out different. As Thatcher once said: "Just rejoice at that news..."
  8. Precisely. Having a flag does not prevent a different, more permament memorial, but it would be a striking and uplifting reminder of the man who saved the club.
  9. I think they have all performed brilliantly as a team and each deserves an ovation. If I had to choose I would say Fonte.
  10. Some people are easily satisfied.
  11. Can we only choose one or is it like AV? Bournemouth, if not, then Huddersfield. Respect:
  12. It was significant that Graeme Murty last night singled out Connolly's part in Lallana's goal at Brentford. He was showing how the way you receive the ball and turn with it creates time for your team-mates.
  13. Do you think promotion will affect the prices?
  14. Well done Nigel. You can afford a quiet smile of satisfaction this evening.
  15. I've just had a horrible thought.... Sunday morning is going to be a bit flat with no footie for 3 months.
  16. That I can relax and enjoy the game without worrying about the result.
  17. Thanks for that. So many times I have seen other teams go on a fantastic winning streak and never for a moment did I think that we would ever do the same. I'm still pinching myself.
  18. Cheers, Alps. I've enjoyed all your contributions, along with everybody else's. Let's raise a glass together, enjoy the summer and start looking forward to next season.
  19. Thanks for the memories 'Enry. I once saw him and his family on Avon Beach at Mudeford about 1980. He still looked in top condition. Rest in Peace.
  20. Me too. I renewed my two season tickets at the end of last season.
  21. Pleased to have donated. Well done Mike, let us know how you get on and come back and ask if you need some more.
  22. I'm not exactly clear what you are trying to say there, but if I did not like the choice I would not eat it. I'm like that.
  23. Not until I've seen what's on offer.
  24. Relax and enjoy the ride. It's better than mid-table obscurity.
  25. I might go to another restaurant, because I can be pig-headed stubborn sometimes, but to be honest I wouldn't visit that restaurant if it didn't have my favourite dish.
