Is anybody else starting to get concerned about Forster like I am? He didn't get anywhere near either of Hull's goals. It seems this season like any half decent shot on target goes in. I have no idea. But given his record, I never want to see Tadic take another penalty for us ever again. He's utter crap at them and always makes them far too easy to save. However, it's probably fair given how it should never have been a pen in the first place. As for the elbow - it's just typical Italian gamesmanship. They are absolute masters at it, and the ref can't give a red if neither he nor the linos see it. Frustrating, but there you go. Someone needs to have a word with the ref about all the holding at corners though. It's not even slightly subtle - it's so blatant that you wonder if they just know they will not get penalised for it though.

When was the last time Froster made a really top drawer save? Fair enough it was a decent enough shot from Costa, but FF didn't get even slightly close to it.

Dreadful goal to concede. You can't give Hazard that kin of space in the box, and Forster needs to do better with a shot like that. But overall we look good so far and don't seem intimidated by Chelsea at all. Reckon we will get chances against their defence. Just need to do better with them than we have been of late.

Crap game. Amazing goal. Was never going to be a scintillating performance with all the youth players that started, but got the job done in the end against a near-full strength Sunderland side who, apart from the 8-0 a couple of years ago, we always seem to struggle against. Dunno what's happened to JWP. Last week he had a good game at Inter, but he was just gash tonight. Can't see ISgrove ever making it into our first-team. Did very little tonight. Stephens looked OK but a little sloppy in his control and passing at times. When is the draw for the next round?

Yeah his passing and control has been wayward, but he still looks to be the man most likely to create something from a set-piece. His delivery from that FK right at the end of the half was as good as a striker could hope for.

Very much this. We have a fluidity about us this season that we didn't have under RK, and it is a joy to watch.

I'm not saying I do. I don't doubt that many of them have travelled to Calais in the hope of getting across the channel, as they have been told some load of codswallop about a magical land of milk and honey where immigrants are welcomed with open arms and given a free mansion / Ferrari etc... What is not in doubt, however, is that their home has been destroyed as a result of a global powerplay involving our own government, and it is only right that we take in our fair share of refugees rather than just sweep the matter under the carpet and expect somebody else to deal with it. Of course, rags like the Sun and the Express are seemingly intent on whipping up as much anti-immigrant hatred as they possibly can in order to prevent that.

Indeed. The situation in Syria is partly of our own government's making, after all they have prolonged the fighting by sending arms to the rebels. The very least they could do in recompense is to house a few displaced refugees. Who gives a flying f*ck if they look a little bit older than they claim to be?

As good as he often looks, it's worth pointing out that both of the last two goals we have conceded were due to him not tracking his runner and allowing them to shoot. I reckon we will be able to keep him this summer, because the length of his contract means we will be wanting more money for him than even the really big clubs would be willing to part with for him.

I'm on the 11.30 Flybe from Manchester tomorrow. Staying a couple of nights with some mates who have booked an apartment for a long weekend and heading back on Saturday. I'm still finding it hard to believe really. This time 6 years ago we were in the bottom half of L1 having just lost to Huddersfield. Now we are heading to the bloody San Siro (a stadium I have long wanted to visit) to play Inter Milan, with an excellent chance of coming away with some points. Thank you Markus. I only caught the second half. How bad was Targett's injury? Pretty routine win against a poor opposition on the face of it. Lovely finish from Redmond - he has been playing very well but with no end product lately. Hopefully this will give him a nice confidence boost. Happy with the points, but overall happier with the style of football that we are playing this season under Puel. It's much prettier than we ever really saw with Koeman. Not sure who the co-commentator was on the stream I was watching but he kept blabbering on about how harsh the penalty we got was on Burnley. WTF!? - Every angle on the replay showed a blatant trip on McQueen who tried to keep going. Looked a dead cert to me.

I reckon Puel will have acknowledged that this would be a gruelling game with such a long trip and a hot stadium with a very hostile crowd. He put out a side with the intention of not getting beaten while saving as much energy as possible, and it worked. A point and a clean sheet away at such a place is really not a bad result at all.
