    Keeping Chaplow

Chaplow is what we need now and will probably be good enough in the Championship. Morgan will get better the higher we rise in the leagues. He is almost a luxury now, but will become essential in days to come.
  3. Online now. At last. Edit : The OS and Twitter says it is, but it isn't . Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  4. Not online yet. Thought they were supposed to be available 24 hours before the game?
  5. Really, really pleased. He first appeared on my radar when his unfancied S****horpe team played us off the pitch at St.Mary's two seasons ago. Somehow we managed to win, but I still remember walking away thinking we were very fortunate not to have our backsides kicked that day. They played with width and pace and constantly embarrassed our supposedly better side. I also remember thinking that I had never heard of any of their players. Their downfall was an inability to put the ball in the net. He should feel right at home here straight away! Welcome Nigel. hopefully for a long and successful stay.
  6. Report from one who was there http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=479&fid=224&sty=2&act=1&mid=2120208945 Most importantly we know that it will not be Phil Brown.....
  7. LOL at all whinging about Illingsworth. Haha!

    Ian Harte

It's only a rumour carried by that minority Sky Sports News channel apparently. No truth in it then. If it were true then I would seriously worry about AP's sanity.
  9. Chris Packham off BBC's Springwatch/Autumnwatch
  10. Thankyou for saving our club Marcus. My only regret is that you did not get to share our climb back up the leagues. A gentleman indeed.
  11. Absolutely spot on TDD. Remember that!
  12. Well thought out and reasoned post Dav. Are you sure you are in the right place?
  13. Christ on a bike, mention NI and all you get on here is whinging. If you can do any better, then do something about it. At least he is prepared to put his head above the parapet. And no, I am not a member of the Saints Trust.
  14. God, I was really pleased we decided to go straight into the stadium to enjoy the atmosphere. Enjoyed not having to queue for food, or drink. Expensive, but not outrageously so. Decent pizzas and pies. Talking of pies, we were entertained by the six a side game which seemed to feature the two widest goalkeepers I have ever seen.
  15. Excellent TT! I don't visit here much these days, but I was pointed in this direction to have a look. Comedy Classic. ... and that is not having a pop at you. I happen to disagree with you, but that is not my point. I just LOVE the responses you got. Right, back to top 3's, etc.
  16. This hatred seems to be a fairly recent thing. For most of my supporting life Pompey have been of no consequence and so I haven't wasted much time thinking about them. I have spent a couple of afternoons at the dockyards looking at Victory and Mary Rose and quite enjoyed my time there. The city was just something to be driven through to get there. When I was in my youth I even went to watch a couple of games at FP that didn't involve Saints. Pompey were in the 4th division at the time and crowds were a bit sparse. I remember one game played in September sunshine that was so boring that I lay down on the terrace, rolled up my jacket as a pillow and went to sleep. I should stress that was because our driver was a skate, so we had to wait for him. So, I don't actually hate the Skates, it is more pity really. Even more acute now that the end of the line is fast approaching them. The natural order of things will soon be restored.
  17. When my nephew got married recently the "groom" on the cake had a Rovers shirt on and the "bride" had a Metallica shirt on!
  18. It is probably something to do with the place. I have relatives who are mad keen Rugby League fans (HKR) and they matter of factly refer to the League side as "Dirty Leeds"
  19. I remember queueing up at the newsagent on the estate where we used to live in the 70's. It used to get there between 6.30-7pm. Don't know why I used to buy it TBH. The match reports made about as much sense as the text feeds on the Beeb. Now when I am around in the area on a Sunday I always make a point of getting a copy. IMHO it is a good paper now and always seems to have content which I haven't read anywhere else. I am surprised at people here looking down there noses at it. I for one would miss it if it were to finish, even though I only get the occasional copy.
  20. Seems to be all the Sky football sites. I have just tried both the Carlisle and Bristol Rovers sites and they all come up "server not responding"
  21. OMG. Exciting game for the Rovers fans. Out thought by Trollope and the Rovers team.
  22. TijuanaTim has asked for this to be posted here, as he can't post at the moment.
  23. This is increasingly looking like "get Briatore" The Times today So, Piquet has immunity, Symonds has immunity and Briatore ........?
  24. I think the thing people are forgetting is that all players need a while to settle in to a team and when so many players are doing the same thing, it is always going to be difficult. Once they develop confidence in themselves and each other, then we will really begin to motor.
