YES when was the last time we managed a cup victory over a team higher than us in the league...
-
I was taking the ****... of course it's liverpool

Crystal Palace was my immediate thought, but surely the Fonte cash should keep them afloat a bit longer. Perhaps he's referring to Notts County? or Gillingham?

another Saints record has been broken..

A quote from the latest series of The Thick of It comes to mind... "If we sack you after a year, it's because you ****ed up, but if we sack you after a week, it looks like we've ****ed up." QPR may be rich but they are going nowhere with their current owners. -
I'm pretty sure Stern John was just a free transfer and had nothing to do with the Kenwyne Jones deal. At least that's what we were told at the time, anyway

Don't write the man off, I could easily picture him wearing an England shirt some day. (Note to Anthony - if you act quickly you can get one on special offer this month, £44.99 in Sportsworld)

Dunno if this has been mentioned but...

Course it's not a big attention seek, he only wants ten thousand people to join his fan club before he bothers doing anything. It's probably a skate trying to bring out the moronic side of us saints fans, to make us look petty and obsessed with them. -

Jan-Paul Saeijs still looking for a club? Not that I expect Pardew to be interested, as he surely would've signed him by now if so. -
Heard him on radio 4 this morning. I would've respected the guy for his comments had I not known who he was. He should keep his mouth shut and lay low because he is one of the worst of the lot. Incredibly he wasn't the most inarticulate person on the radio this morning, that honour fell to some chavvy singer whose name I can't remember. I actually felt sorry for the interviewer for having to talk to such an idiot. That said, she did have a decent voice when she was actually singing.

Good to hear Sophie is doing well. Hope her progress continues along with Saints' good form.

Good post. However, seeing the description of his 'shocked look' makes me wish I was there to smack the gormless bastard in the mouth. Surely someone paid as much as he was would not have to be informed of such a statistic? Or was he simply being sarcastic? Either way, the image of him looking all gobsmacked really irritates me. Did he ever get through a penalty shoot out when he was managing England? I remember a lot of missed penalties during his time.

What the **** was he doing in winchester? The traffic's horrible at the best of times. Surely he could've found what he needed in southampton, saving a half-hour drive? [edit: sorry, just saw the above post... evidently "saint stevo's wife" is the answer to my question.]

Steve Williams, Wayne Bridge, Theo Walcott
stardustonmyfeet replied to TijuanaTim's topic in The Saints
Didn't Theo get a hat-trick for England in his last game fairly recently? That's not what I call fizzling out. -
We are walking this league

Brighton so chuffed at beating us they have made a DVD!
stardustonmyfeet replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
We're the Man Utd of the south. lmao -
In our last 8 league matches, starting with the win against Gillingham, we have earned 17 points... almost double the 9 points we got from the first 10. If that's not great form, I don't know what is.

MLT - Footballs Greatest Penalty King
stardustonmyfeet replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
We know Matt le Tiss got 48 out of 49, but I'd be interested to see how others did. I can't find many stats on this subject. But while we're talking about MLT, I don't think many of us noticed this when he was on countdown in the summer, but it turns out he's pretty handy with the maths too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rteww8eyplQ -
Pardew is to Charlton what Redknapp is to us. I remember how mystified I was that Redknapp managed to keep the skates up, even with all that spending.

Oh please. I really don't get the 'leave refereeing alone' argument. Barring our recent run of results, our team is dodgy enough as it is without worrying about whether the ref's crucial decision-making is going against us.
