Tend to agree - it's all about that damn momentum curve. Sometimes we will be good other times we wont, the ups and downs of modern football, that all teams go through in some way shape or form. Personally I think it was a brave decision to take us on last year, could so easily have gone wrong for him, so based on that alone I was more than happy for him to be given the chance. Tend to agree with you, take out the first hour against Burnley and we don't look to bad, certainly better than last season.

Tend to agree, whilst Angus is a great addition to our squad, it wasn't a priority while we still have Fraser. Not only that but I think it makes it much more difficult to offload Fraser because we have effectively said that he's not even good enough for our bench. Who's going to take a chance on a keeper whose 3rd choice and commands massive wages. I'm all for giving young players a chance, but I think that sometimes we as fans are far to eager to throw them into the big league. We forget that managers have a responsibility to make sure that their exposure in the big time is at the right time, i.e they also need to protect the players from bombing out and losing confidence altogether. Getting young players game time in the lower leagues, especially under the stewardship of a coach like Clough, (although I wouldn't necessarily cherish working with Pulis, although he was a defender, so Sam will be ok) is probably good development as far as I'm concerned. It's about getting the right balance.

Real reality check, we've been 'relegation fodder' for most of the seasons that I have been supporting Saints (1968ish), so evidently we are pretty good at dealing with that issue. There is no reason why he wouldn't have come here when the deal was originally discussed.
