As for Paxman, well I've rarely seen him so disinterested, as somebody else said he actually looked like he couldn't believe that your man was getting air time, especially alongside the Mubarak / Egypt headlines. If that was your big advertisment for the EDL, then I think most right minded people will probably steer clear, or at least do a little more research before commiting themselves.

Sadly I think that this actually has quite a lot to do with our problems, similar to the same problem that Leeds faced when they tried to get out of this league. I still think that some of the players think that we are the big 'I am', and we only have to turn up. It doesnt work - the sooner we realise that we have to roll our sleeves up and scrap to get out - the better.

Big 45 minutes coming up. Both Brighton and Bournemouth are winning games for fun, we are struggling, especially away from home. It's all very well pointing to games in hand, but ask any football manager and they will tell you that they would rather have points on the board. Whilst your points are all well made, valid and probably obvious to most, you need to read PES, above. Apparrently the blue few don't give a toss about what they do or how they achieve 'success'. Cup wins are where its all at, no matter how you achieve those wins, the record will show that they are the most superior team on the south coast - having won loads of cups irrespective of the consequences. THEY DONT ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT **** ALL ELSE. Do I care that the record shows them to be much better than us - not a ****in' jot. Like you, I can look at our troubled times, strangely with some pleasure now, knowing that we at least tried to do it the right way. So, yeah you can keep your cups and all that, forget the gun running, money laundering, charity cheating and general lies and deciept, and go and win yet more trophies - I care not a jot. Rivalry is one thing and long should it remain in the game - but lets not forget about decency as well, eh.

Not strictly true, many deals could be concluded after the window officially closes - therefore players can still move, so lets not tempt fate eh. Personally though - I think staying is the right choice for the lad. He comfortable, he's playing, he's learning, he's getting better and the clincher for him is he has massive amounts of time on his side. No need to rush now - the vultures will circle once again at the end of the season and he can re-assess his options.

Not often that I am happy when we lose, but I have to say it was the perfect result today in many ways. Highly unlikely we would win the cup and so playing the best team in the world, and giving them a good game is probably a fair way to make our exit. Was dreading a replay - yes, it's a good one for our travelling army, but really we didn't need anymore distractions to the league. As a result, I was kinda hoping that united would just edge it - not good, I know, but you take my point. Very proud of the lads - everyone put a shift in and did the club, city and it's supporters proud - well done NA as well.

Not a cat in hells chance - they have their feet firmly on the accelerator whilst we are in neutral at the moment. Honestly cannot see them blipping again this season either, I think they will win it by a country mile. Unfortunately don't think we have enough consistency to get second either - we seem to be unbeatable one game and unbearable the next, too much of a swing in form. The play-offs are a lottery, would be a great way to go up, but I don't see us making that either. As people have said, there is a way to go yet, but if my house was on it - we will be in this league come this time next season, unfortunately.

When I am away on business in Germany, I quite regularly go to a restaurant that only uses these old swipe systems. Sometimes the bills take 3 - 4 months to appear on my co credit card statement, so I would imagine that it will be processed at some point in the future.

Utterly shyte day all round really, really expected us to get something out of the game and would probably have been happy with 1 point.
