Not strictly true, many deals could be concluded after the window officially closes - therefore players can still move, so lets not tempt fate eh. Personally though - I think staying is the right choice for the lad. He comfortable, he's playing, he's learning, he's getting better and the clincher for him is he has massive amounts of time on his side. No need to rush now - the vultures will circle once again at the end of the season and he can re-assess his options.

Ahhh, you're back.

Christ Deppo - who rattled your cage. Normally it's an acid '5 word put down' max or a half line 'tongue in cheeker'...! That said - got to agree with most of your rantings though...

Really, given the recent fall out from the Sky sexism case, I'd say that ITV would find it somewhat difficult to report such 'facts' using the very same metaphors that you do. But let's not let that get in the way of personal opinions shall we - many didn't over the sky scandal.

It's not about Man Utd, it's about Crawley. Dream draw for them - hope they enjoy the day.

Not often that I am happy when we lose, but I have to say it was the perfect result today in many ways. Highly unlikely we would win the cup and so playing the best team in the world, and giving them a good game is probably a fair way to make our exit. Was dreading a replay - yes, it's a good one for our travelling army, but really we didn't need anymore distractions to the league. As a result, I was kinda hoping that united would just edge it - not good, I know, but you take my point. Very proud of the lads - everyone put a shift in and did the club, city and it's supporters proud - well done NA as well.

Not a cat in hells chance - they have their feet firmly on the accelerator whilst we are in neutral at the moment. Honestly cannot see them blipping again this season either, I think they will win it by a country mile. Unfortunately don't think we have enough consistency to get second either - we seem to be unbeatable one game and unbearable the next, too much of a swing in form. The play-offs are a lottery, would be a great way to go up, but I don't see us making that either. As people have said, there is a way to go yet, but if my house was on it - we will be in this league come this time next season, unfortunately.

When I am away on business in Germany, I quite regularly go to a restaurant that only uses these old swipe systems. Sometimes the bills take 3 - 4 months to appear on my co credit card statement, so I would imagine that it will be processed at some point in the future.

Ok so you couldn't fit a running track into SMS, so would there be any chance of installing an Olympic sized swimming pool under the pitch with diving facilities strapped to the northern end - or is that technically too challenging as well...???!!!!

Utterly shyte day all round really, really expected us to get something out of the game and would probably have been happy with 1 point. And now just to round of a totally pants day, I have the dubious pleasure of going around the brother in laws house for dinner, who is an ardent Man U (plastic) fan. Shyte, shyte, shyte, shyte...!!!!

Ahhhh good spot Nick. Which is why I believe that some people (including me) are a little peeved tstl, but that as they say, is football...!

Depends on what your personal aspirations for the season were - but feel free to go ahead if you so wish....

I really don't see why people are having a go at Alps, he has a point. OK we may not be fragile, but we are inconsistant. How can we go away to a form side and stuff them for six and then struggle to get anything out of this game? Personally I never expected us to get promoted this season (and still don't), but I really don't see why people are giving Alps a hard time right now.

Do you do the lottery numbers as well per chance...????
-
Would've been delighted with a scruffy 0 - 1 tonight as well. Just think what we could have done if we didn't have the distraction of the FA Cup eh...!
-
Trousers, give us the lottery numbers mate....!

Is there any way to see how many people are actually on the forum at the moment - I could find it on the old site, but dont know where to look on this one...?

And on this part of the equation I agree with most of what you say Nick. He is obviously more than comfortable at Bournemouth, expectations will not be high - he has probably already exceeded what was expected. Therefore life is cushy to a certain extent, and he has proved himself to be a more than competent manager. The fear for him will always be what happens when he does eventually move - will he be able to replicate his current success rate at a bigger team. To be fair to him, Palace and Charlton are not actually currently giant leaps forward from where he currently is - and I'm not sure that either club has much of a 'warchest' to throw at him either. It's difficult to see how it will pan out for him now - but if he keeps Bournemouth in and around the promotion places, or achieves it - offers will follow next year for sure - and probably more attractive propositions than what Charlton and Palace currently are.

Sorry Nick but I totally disagree. He has exercised his right to look at the postitions vacant column. If reports are to be believed he has passed the interview process and been selected for at least one position. It is his right, having been offered the postition to decline if he so wishes. I'm sure that he would have told all parties that he required some 'decission time' - and honoured that part of the deal. I really do not think he has made anybody look like a numpty at all, nor is it a snub in my eyes. He probably thinks that the Bournemouth job is only half done and believes that he can get them up. Let's face it, if he does get them promoted, or indeed even near, he will be 'managerial hot property' next season as well. Time is on his side and he will still get lots of offers. That's not to say that he will be successful once he does leave though, different jobs bring different aspirations and different problems - he could quite easily crash and burn at a new job. That said, right now, he is in demand and turning a few jobs down is not going to change that in my eyes.

Absolutely agree with docker-p. Can we make this a stickie and have a poll so other can vote on the number of stickies we want please...???!!! Seriously though - he has a point.
-
I think he will stay - he's doing well this season and there will be no end of offers on the 'Manager Merry Go Round' at the start of next season should he keep the Cherries there or there abouts this season. He's obviously 'torn' at the moment and unsure, if he was going to go, I think that he would have made his decission by now.
-
Great manager - can't stand him...!
-
To be honest, in this league they are both more than competent keepers. Let's not forget that Kelvin could be warming his ass on Avrams bench and picking up a packet for the priviledge. Hopefully he will be rewarded for his loyalty when we play them a couple of times next season...!
-
Exactly - it's a case of what you are selling. How do you sell what effectively is a mountain of debt, not many people want to buy such a product, strangely. Perhaps there is somebody out there who can see posible potential in the club, but would have to be one hell of an optimist.
