  1. Depends on what your personal aspirations for the season were - but feel free to go ahead if you so wish....
  2. I really don't see why people are having a go at Alps, he has a point. OK we may not be fragile, but we are inconsistant. How can we go away to a form side and stuff them for six and then struggle to get anything out of this game? Personally I never expected us to get promoted this season (and still don't), but I really don't see why people are giving Alps a hard time right now.
  3. Do you do the lottery numbers as well per chance...????
  4. Would've been delighted with a scruffy 0 - 1 tonight as well. Just think what we could have done if we didn't have the distraction of the FA Cup eh...!
  5. Trousers, give us the lottery numbers mate....!
  6. Is there any way to see how many people are actually on the forum at the moment - I could find it on the old site, but dont know where to look on this one...?
  7. And on this part of the equation I agree with most of what you say Nick. He is obviously more than comfortable at Bournemouth, expectations will not be high - he has probably already exceeded what was expected. Therefore life is cushy to a certain extent, and he has proved himself to be a more than competent manager. The fear for him will always be what happens when he does eventually move - will he be able to replicate his current success rate at a bigger team. To be fair to him, Palace and Charlton are not actually currently giant leaps forward from where he currently is - and I'm not sure that either club has much of a 'warchest' to throw at him either. It's difficult to see how it will pan out for him now - but if he keeps Bournemouth in and around the promotion places, or achieves it - offers will follow next year for sure - and probably more attractive propositions than what Charlton and Palace currently are.
  8. Sorry Nick but I totally disagree. He has exercised his right to look at the postitions vacant column. If reports are to be believed he has passed the interview process and been selected for at least one position. It is his right, having been offered the postition to decline if he so wishes. I'm sure that he would have told all parties that he required some 'decission time' - and honoured that part of the deal. I really do not think he has made anybody look like a numpty at all, nor is it a snub in my eyes. He probably thinks that the Bournemouth job is only half done and believes that he can get them up. Let's face it, if he does get them promoted, or indeed even near, he will be 'managerial hot property' next season as well. Time is on his side and he will still get lots of offers. That's not to say that he will be successful once he does leave though, different jobs bring different aspirations and different problems - he could quite easily crash and burn at a new job. That said, right now, he is in demand and turning a few jobs down is not going to change that in my eyes.
  9. Absolutely agree with docker-p. Can we make this a stickie and have a poll so other can vote on the number of stickies we want please...???!!! Seriously though - he has a point.
  10. I think he will stay - he's doing well this season and there will be no end of offers on the 'Manager Merry Go Round' at the start of next season should he keep the Cherries there or there abouts this season. He's obviously 'torn' at the moment and unsure, if he was going to go, I think that he would have made his decission by now.
  11. Great manager - can't stand him...!
  12. To be honest, in this league they are both more than competent keepers. Let's not forget that Kelvin could be warming his ass on Avrams bench and picking up a packet for the priviledge. Hopefully he will be rewarded for his loyalty when we play them a couple of times next season...!
  13. Exactly - it's a case of what you are selling. How do you sell what effectively is a mountain of debt, not many people want to buy such a product, strangely. Perhaps there is somebody out there who can see posible potential in the club, but would have to be one hell of an optimist.
  14. Personally I agree with Sour and DP, Nicola is probably well aware of our potential - if he wasn't he wouldn't have got involved in us in the first place. Yes it is a chance to play probably the best team in the country with a full house, but I bet you he would gladly forego this 'glamour tie' for guaranteed promotion - he has his priorities and I don't think the FA Cup is top of his list. Yes, it's a great draw, yes we can't loose either way - but I'm pretty sure that Nicola knows only too well our potential, it's up to us now to reach it.
  15. This. Plus the point made earlier about the semi finals being played at Wembley - there are more than enough decent sized stadiums to host those games. Wembley is a magical experience that should be reserved for the final only.
  16. Last night my father in law, who is a Man U fan, was presented with 70 presents for his 70th birthday - my son got him a Man U shirt with Ron and 70 on the back. The family also agreed that he should go to a game at OT, as he has never been there and I was just looking for tickets on line. Then this came up - now, I wonder......!!!!
  17. Simply cringeworthy.....
  18. Sounded very 'non commital' to me. Can except that he would be dejected because of the result today, but it appeared that everything else was / is wrong as well. Blaming the ref is fine, but after any ref has flashed a few cards, the other players should get the message and take the hint - his players obviously did not - that is basic football discipline that you teach 11 year olds ffs. Didn't sound at all confident that his 'wish list' would be honoured at all. Nigel Adkins stated that we had made enqireries for players, Steve Cotterill couldn't even be sure that his board had acted on his wishes. Sounds like a man totally dejected with life and a whole host of problems to try to solve - good init...!
  19. Wayne was great for us, record number of consequetive games while he played for us, or something like that. Unfortunately since he got his 'big move' his focus seems to have been lost somewhat, and appears happy to play second fiddle to others. It's sort of the same as Michael Owen at Man U - in most other clubs he would probably be a regular starter - but he appears happy to sit and take the money. Sad really, I really liked Bridgey when he played for us, but since his move(s) he appears more happy to have been payed as opposed to have been played.
  20. As we all seem a little confused about this one, I thought I'd just as well add to that confusion: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6639872,00.html
  21. Don't know if I have missed something here Trousers, but why not just go straight to the Lego site mate: http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=7499&LangId=2057&ShipTo=UK or http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=7895&LangId=2057&ShipTo=UK You also might want to download and check out the Lego Digital Designer as well Trousers, my kids put it on my machine - but it is actually a very impressive peice of software.

    Flybe

But the airport will not be able to substantiate the accuracy of the flybe website at the time of the alleged cancellation - which is where EM says he got the information. Probably the only people who would be able to confirm the accuracy of that information would be Flybe themselves, and it's unlikely they are going to do that I guess. I think the only thing that you can do is get your friends to also complain that incorrect information was made available on their website and as a result you want at least the refund from the flight. Don't forget - if the website was inaccurate (and the flight did leave), you could conceivably claim for lost monies for the game ticket, overnight accomodation etc. Eitherway - if there were a few of you booked on the flight I would get everybody to make the same complaint. Good luck.
  23. I hate to say it, but you just gotta love this guy...!!! Same to you mack, same to you.
  24. My elder son has a PS3, wired to a 42 inch HD flat screen and a pioneer sound system - pretty awsome for most game play. My younger son has an xbox 360 (old style (fat) and quite noisy) wired to a small Bush portable TV - still playable, but nowhere near the PS3 setup. (Santa has a bigger screen for him - so will soon be HD(sssshhhhh...!)). I originally thought that the PS3 was miles better, but am not convinced now, and given the fact that the xbox360 was somewhat cheaper - am very happy with it's functionality and performance.
  25. Yeah - I appreciate all that. I didn't actually mean more trouble in the FI, I meant our ability to be able to react to a similar scenario anywhere in the world. When the FI conflict began I believe it was the first time that we deployed JTFHQ afloat for, eerrr donkeys years. The Harriers gave us a very versitile strike aircraft which lends itself to working from carriers - today, we have no Harriers and not sure that the boys in blue actually have any carriers left either. Massive capability gap as far as I can see. And just for the old boys amongst us, why it's named so, I do not know because there is absolutely eff all Pleasant about Mount Pleasant. Or there wasn't when I was last there...! Damn good memories though.
