No change. They are bleating again, blaming Gaydamak for all of thier current woes - a deal will be done and they will be allowed to continue. Hence Nick and his 'they have got away with it' remains valid input.

Unfortunately though - the truth is that they probably will. I think that it is unlikely that they will go bust, a deal will be struck at the 11th hour and they will continue on thier merry way. Personally I think the lastest statement has been released purely to force the Gay guys hand, and by so doing they will finally shake off administration. All of that said though - it would appear that they are treading a very thin line, one day shouting from the rooftops that they are nearly out of administration (and thus trading normally), to the next where they claim to not have the means the get through to next week. They will get out of this, and survive - but there is more to come yet.

Ahhhh right - that explains it all, so none of this was in fact PFC's fault in the first place. BTW, you really should think about a career in Insolvency or Finance, the way you 'manipulated the figures' and 'slanted the reasoning' was, frankly, stunning. Personally now, having read your account of this whole sorry debacle, I would like to offer my unreserved apology to all of your supporters for any distress that you may have suffered. The FL should look favourably about re-imbursing the 9 points that they took from you last season - I believe they should be added to this seasons total, so as not to disadvantage you any further. Hopefully as well, the FA will be looking to cancelling this years cup competition, which I hope will be awarded to PFC as a token of all fans appreciation of your loss. Furthermore, the transfer embargo needs to be lifted now. Any debt figures should be wiped from the history books and the FL should reimburse you for all of the star players that you were forced to sell in order to try to survive. On behalf of fans everywhere - I really would like to say sorry for getting this so so wrong.

None as far as I can see - is that what you have done...?

Errr without a doubt, this. I'm prepared for yet more years in this league and yet more managerial changes before we actually achieve promotion, the sooner the 'money myth' is kicked the better - it is giving everybody false expectations which results in nothing but constant pressure. Teams that play with no pressure to achieve - probably outfits like Bournemouth, Brighton and Blackpool.
-
You're absolutely correct - if, as has been mooted, these players wages are beyond the 10k pw wage cap that was imposed by the club in order to give it best chance of meeting the CVA and remaining stable, then questions should be asked. If this all goes Pete Tong again - then the fans have no one to blame but themselves this time - they now have the chance to question the running of the club but appear only interested in the glory once again.
-
Yeah there has been a fair amount of stalling going on all round. Reading between the lines, I actually think that they went to the FL with 'the plan' that they wanted and hoped that they might somehow get it approved. But I also think that they knew this might happen and so have had 'plan B' ready and waiting just in case. The problem for Chainrai is that he is backed into a corner and has nowhere else to go unfortunately. He would now appear to be the 'proud' owner of a club that he just doesn't really want. They next problem for him is 'stick', 'twist' or 'bust' - is he willing to put more money in in order to keep the club on an even footing, invest heavily in the hope of promotion, or try to run the club as a going concern based on current incomings and revenue? Wouldn't like to be in his shoes right now.
-
You'll probably have to wait some time for that, but credit where credit is due, unlike others, he at least has taken all of our jibes in very good humour. One that you wouldn't mind going for a drink with methinks.

All too confusing for me, 2 hours ago they were dead and buried because AA said that there was no way in a month of sundays that they would be able to meet the FL requirements. Went out for a chinese, got back to find out that they now have new owners in place for tomorrows game. 'Tis a strange, strange world.....

It would appear the Liverpool takeover has been or is very near to being completed in the High Court. Whilst the two cases may be somewhat disimilar, it only goes to prove that if you have a viable, stable business with the right asetts in place it does not take long to find a buyer. On the other hand - if you have nothing of any potential worth, buyers might be just a little harder to find.

Comments 11 & 16... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Shotton-can-be-Pompey39s-right.6583087.jp?CommentPage=2&CommentPageLength=10#comments sometimes I dispair...!!!

Forgive my ignorance but I thought that their current 'owner' stated recently that he was willing to stump up any shortfall of funds to the tune of about 7 mil. How come there is a financial problem and they cannot pay wages?
-
The comment may still be valid, we may not achieve promotion automatically or otherwise. I just find it an interesting thread, at the time it was posted I never commented, but have since read it through. Given that it is probably less than a month old, the state of the table and the number of games / points still available I just wonder how many people would like to 'stick' or 'twist'. The bookies will always adjust thier odds - they have too much to loose.
-
In your opinion maybe. But their were lots of people who contributed to the thread and were willing to 'pin their colours to the mast' so to speak.

She was actually quite right though - I'm watching the game now and they are playing a 10 formation. Unfortunately they have 10 men at the back in front of the goal trying to stop Spain from scoring...!! ....stoppress... and as I type Spain score to make it 2 - 0. Best think of another formation now. ....stoppress2... Ohhhh jesus christ, who's got the bloody humble pie, what a mong I am, sometime I open my gob at all the wrong times... In the space of what, 8 minutes or so, they jocks have only gone and levelled the game. God I feel a right tit.
-
Ho if you honestly believe that a measure of support, be it by the press or any other agency, is taken from the amount of noise fans make at games then you are sadly mistaken. First and foremost it is the number of bums on seats, you know, those who are willing to dip into their pockets, pay their money and attend the games week in and week out. I have absolutely no bitterness whatsoever about the medias 'praise' of your fans - the only thing I look at in any match report concerning the fans is the attendance figure. Our attendance figures are quite good - could be better, but they are not bad.

I fixed a guys laptop a couple of months ago - nothing special, took me a couple of hours over a couple of nights. He offered me cash but I declined, when he became more insistent I politely pointed him to a charity site raising money for a young boy whose parents need to raise money for a life saving operation and asked him to make a donation. He agree - all parties were happy.

Funny you should start this thread today - I phone somebody in the Falkland Islands at about 10ish today and they weren't too happy about being worken up. Forgot they were 6 hours behind us...!!!

Swedish season - the run-in..
Micky replied to david in sweden's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
Are there any English players playing overthere in the Swedish League(s)? -
With the way the table is currently, where we are is pretty irrelevant, the points - yes please, the place - not too bothered right now. It's where we are at the end of the season that counts.
-
Why bother - you can get two pairs of Tescos own brand for eight quid - or they not acceptable at SMS...!!!
-
All rather early at the moment, how many games has Adam played this season, and from what I've read on here Guly went from shyte to shyte hot in 2 games. Who knows, our player of the season may not be at the club yet.
-
Ahhhh so we have a few 'fence sitters' now, not willing to show their hands, erring on the side of caution and not making predictions either way.
