Well somebody is telling porkies: There is no way it could be AG if this is factual: quote A football insider said: "This is a man who oversees a football club which has been involved in multi-million pound transfers and pays players tens of thousands of pounds every week. Unquote Since when did the skates get involved in multi-million pound transfers and when was the last time they paid thier players...??? I rest my case - AG must be innocent...!
  2. I actually have a bit of a soft spot for the 'ammers - so I will be rooting for them to stay up. Pompey on the other hand - hopefully the south coast derby returns next year...!
  3. I actually love the fact that we are rarely in the news these days.... but when we are, it all appears positive stuff, buying good players, planning new training facilities, a manager with vision and plans for the future with the Owner backing him - life couldn't be better right now.
  4. Apparently so... not sure when or where though - or how many are going... I'll keep you posted if I find anything out.
  5. What here on this thread or at the game...???
  6. Geeze - must have missed those, I'll check again...!
  7. No idea - can't find anything anywhere ...!
  8. A little cheer for them here: http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/Tottenham-Manager-Harry-Redknapp-Facing-Proceedings-Over-A-Tax-Issue/Article/200912315504712?lpos=UK_News_Carousel_Region_3&lid=ARTICLE_15504712_Tottenham_Manager_Harry_Redknapp_Facing_Proceedings_Over_A_Tax_Issue
  9. No brown bag jokes, please... http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/Tottenham-Manager-Harry-Redknapp-Facing-Proceedings-Over-A-Tax-Issue/Article/200912315504712?lpos=UK_News_Carousel_Region_3&lid=ARTICLE_15504712_Tottenham_Manager_Harry_Redknapp_Facing_Proceedings_Over_A_Tax_Issue
  10. Would have been my Xmas bonus if we had got anything from this game. Sounds like we were in the game and only lost to a decent goal as well - no disgrace. How we react will be important now - need to get back to winning ways.
  11. Have been saying this for some time now. The Prem is littered with some dire teams - with the start that Pompey made they should be dead and buried by now, but such is the lack of quality that other teams have failed to capitilise. That, and of course there is always one 'dark horse' who falls into the relegation fight a bit like Newcastle last year - perhaps WHU this. Judging on that performance - I can see them staying up, perhaps comfortably as well.
  12. Ummm perhaps so, but surely if this lad was a 'serial offender' at SMS would the stewards not have marked his card by now? I don't remember anything on here (or elsewhere for that matter) about this young lad before this incident - do you? If he is doing it at away games then again the parenting should be called into question, but again, you would think that if, as we are being led to believe, the lad has previous - then the stewards are at fault for either not seeing him on the playing surface (!!!) or failing to detain and deal with him.
  13. For a team that was relegated - no other team can match that, shows we are making good progress.
  14. Nope - not at all. There is much speculation that he has 'done it before' and was 'goaded on' by bigger kids - but no actual proof of this. I'll take it for what it was - a harmless bit of fun, wrong perhaps, but nothing whatsoever malicious in what he did. Life is short, very short....
  15. I think you probably mis-read something - I didn't say that at all - in fact quite the opposite. I will cede that fact that those that should be taking responsibility for this are the parents. However - I remain unconvinced that this was anything other than a young lad getting caught up in the emotion and drama of the game, and nothing more sinister. The photos look great and I would have loved to of been there to witness it first hand.
  16. Yeah - this is great stuff. Lot of 'red tape' in there though - so why not circumnavigate the whole official thing and, tell you what - lets just shoot the boy and his non caring guardian(s) - job done...!
  17. Exactly - the PL is pretty shocking this season, you would have thought that they would have been cut adrift by now - but they are still clinging on to others coat tails. If they put a couple of decent results togeather they could still get out of it. 15 Everton 16 17 16 Hull City 17 17 17 Bolton Wanderers 16 16 18 Wolverhampton Wanderers 17 16 19 West Ham United 17 14 20 Portsmouth 16 11
  18. Hardly last minute (79th) - still had time to get something out of the game. But they didn't... shame....
  19. It is a bit of a strange one - but perhaps with only one arm tied behind his back PH might be able to do something with Rangers. His treatment down the road was shocking - I wish him well at QPR.
  20. Got to be one of the funniest threads ever. If the young lad, or 25 of his close friends invade the pitch at the next match, or sometime soon in the future - then I will chastise them and want them publically hung. Until then, I wish him good fortune, happy memories of supporting his team - he probably now has the present that all 5 - 7 year olds wanted for christmas. It is the season of goodwill to all men, technically he was in the wrong, but personally I think that his over-enthusiasm should be overlooked as the moment added to the night. Any right minded adult should be able to distingquish between a malicious act and pure high jinks - I'm pretty sure I know what this was. Merry Christmas to you all.
  21. Strange - in more ways than one...!
  22. Wasn't at the game but gotta laugh at the pitch invasion comments. A five year old, probably seeing one of the best games he's ever witnessed gets a little over excited and transgresses onto the playing area. A player, seeing his predicament, uses a little common sence and sorts the situation out in a more than festive manner. I'm pretty sure that the stewards could have probably quelled this pitch invasion and fairly certain that no nasty precedences have been set for a gang load of thuggish 5 year olds to follow at the next home game. It was a great night - just think of the stories that that young lad will be able to cite come 30 - 40 years from now - it's what we all dream about, so let it be.
  23. Normally those people who leave early wouldn't bother me in the slightest - it's their choice. But I really cannot understand how anybody would leave when we are only one goal down, at home and knowing that the game could well go to penalties. Sorry but I find that bizarre to say the least...!
  24. So, about this penalty coach for England then - any ideas...???
  25. My take on it too. TBH, pretty basic coaching practice for any forward players. Timing is the issue here, not the skill element.
