No room for sentiment here. Forever grateful for Killers contribution to the club - he was immense for us. But the club too reciprocated during his long fight to get fit again. To intimate that we should be offering him a coaching contract based on the fact that he did well for us during his playing days is foolish. Go down that road and we'd just as well give MLT, Franny, Doddsy, Shilts, Shearer & Razor a call and offer them all 'posts' somewhere in the club. Forever grateful for his contribution to the club - but there is a time to leave the stage.

Ahhhh another journeyman - been there, seen it, dunit - that's (largely) how we got here, so unlikely to be the answer to our problems.

Very, very good point - could have been collecting prem wages for not doing a lot, but chose to stay. I hope he has a blinding season, but if he has a few 'mares' hopefully the fans will also stop and think before dishing out the shyte.

Methinks this accolade is being 'earned' rather lightly these days, your post intimates that he could go from mercenary to legend in a single season whereas I would simply say that, during his time with us, he did a job. No more, no less, and certainly nowhere near legend.

I doubt he will be able to sleep at night knowing that - you've put him in a right dillema now...! FFS - Get a life and move on, he did.

Shame really - honestly thought that he would score a lot of goals in L1. I guess if the player doesn't want to be here though there is little we can do to change his mind. Hopefully AP has a 'cunning plan' - otherwise would could start to look as threadbare as our near neighbours down at Nottarf Krap - and that would never do.

Beg to differ - but it does matter. Let's have a 'winning mentality' running through the whole team - not just half of it eh. Reserves today could well be 1st team players tomorrow, hence they need to fit into the 'winning mentality' team quickly. All of that said - I accept your point, there is no point looking to deeply at a pre-season freindly whilst fielding an XI.

Just thinking that it could come back to bite you on the arse later on in the season. TBH though, if we can get off to a flyer (bucking the trend there - I know), then there is no reason why we shouldn't aim high for the rest of the season.

Strange weather phenomenon sweeping the South Coast..., ...still minus 10 in Southampton but strangley sunny and bright..., whilst in Portsmouth it's dull and dismal despite being 25 degrees, and getting hotter by the day!
