  1. For the second time, I'm not advocating this. I'm merely pointing out that if it were to happen, the risk of a few hundred people rattling around in an empty stadium is probably preferable, and more low risk than many other walks of life when it comes to spreading the virus. 2. Get yourself to Waterloo underground during the morning rush hour tomorrow, you'll experience all the bodily contact you can handle, as will thousands of people as they go about their normal daily business. No, I'm not into it as you put it, but again it highlights, many people run a greater risk of infection than a few footballers running around an empty stadium. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk
  3. Why? Look around you, have a look and see what other people are still routinely doing. You maybe walking around with an exclusion zone around you but for many the reality it's that little has changed in their working environments. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk
  4. What a totally stupid comment. It doesn't take the brains of a rocket scientist to put into place some quite simple precautionary methods, to allow closed door games to go on. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  5. Why are players 'good at spreading the virus'. They are no better at it than anybody else, it can be caught from surfaces as well as breathing it in. It can exist on surfaces, supposedly for up to 72 hours. Two teams of staff and players in an empty stadium are much less vulnerable than 100 people working in a warehouse distribution centre, 100 people working in a hospital or 50 people working in an office or call centre. The point is there are lots of people who are still currently working in the vicinity of many other people in lots of different scenarios, all are at risk of catching or spreading the virus. I totally understand the sense in not have fans at games - but playing them in empty stadiums is pretty low risk for the players as far as I am concerned.
  6. From what little of the subject I know - I tend to agree entirely. I would have thought that fit healthy footballers are very low risk in term of their ability to fight the virus, everything I have heard points to elderly people, or those with underlying health issues, as being high risk. You cannot quarantine the country no matter how hard you try, how many people got on a bus, a train or a plane today - probably quite a few. Personally, kicking a ball about in an empty stadium would appear pretty low risk to me.
  7. Does this mean that liverpool would not win the title either? Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk

    VAR

Totally agree about the subjectivity, VAR cannot differentiate, it's a matter of opinion. One person might say it was yellow, another red. One person might say it's a penalty, another person not, it's all still about opinions. Personally I would do away with VAR apart from using it for offside calls. We have goal line technology which works perfectly well and nobody moans about it, just change the name of VAR to non-goal line technology, use it for offsides only, and get on with the game. 9. If a football match breaks out, they play it better than us and will probably win. If we keep it tight and ugly we might get something. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk
  10. Villa's run in looks really very difficult, can't see them getting more than 9 points at very best. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk
  11. He spends an awful lot of time on the deck that lad. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk
  12. I thought it hit him pretty close to his shoulder blade...! I've got no idea what constitutes handball these days, what i do know 's that we rarely seem to get any given for....! Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk
  13. Is that really handball...? Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk
  14. Somebody posted on here recently that Alex McCarthy was the worst keeper in the premier league....! [emoji54][emoji848] Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk
  15. Simply not enough 'end product'. Yes, hes a skillful player, there's no doubt about that - but 9 times out of 10 there's nothing at the end of it. Time to mag to grid for me I'm afraid.
  16. I think that goes without saying really. If you look at many of the so call established clubs that go down from this league, they tend to do it in 'installments'. In that they survive a couple of dodgy seasons, but eventually they end up being relegated. Villa spring to mind when they went - but many have gone this way, we are currently on a very dodgy path.
  17. Totally agree. It's been a long, long time since I've sat at St Mary's confident that we were going to win. Days of winning games comfortably are long gone. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk

  19. I watched the same game as you, but I have a different opinion to you, is that ok, or do you wish to rant some more in order to try to make your point? Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk
  20. He was on the pitch for 5 minutes and then got sent off, hopefully the same on the last day of the season.... [emoji6] Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk

  23. Mate, knock yourself out with your constant criticism and negativity. I was there today, I know what I saw, rarely does a player who has just been sent off get a standing ovation. We played well, we lost, but we were always in with a chance of getting something. Players and crowd did the club proud today. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  24. Yes, for the first half hour, they looked like losing. Even in the second half, until Valery's mistake we could have nicked it, we were certainly worth a battling point. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
