  1. A brilliant example of how to be wrong in so many ways, so many times in just 3 sentences. Impressive stuff.
  2. yeah, but you kind of got that spectacularly wrong last season too....
  3. Seems a slightly odd contract. I'd hate to get into a situation in a year or so's time where we don't play Lambert for his 19th league game because we don't want to trigger the contract extension. Still, I'd prefer him basically locked in, I guess.
  4. Am just starting to believe I might prefer our midfield (if everyone fit). They are stronger at the back though and much stronger up front.
  5. Wowser. That looks fantastic. Had never heard of flipboard before - nice job!
  6. I find it amazing that some people think this is a must win game.
  7. Well, that draw persuades me that I'm probably more interested in the FA Cup than the League this season (barring a massive upswing or a massive downswing in our form in the league)
  8. Amazingly, the skates are about 14/1 to be relegated and still as short as 16/1 to be promoted! I'd say the 14/1 on relegation is worth a punt - looks more like 4/1 or 5/1 to me.
  9. I think the quaintest, cutest thing is folk on this forum imploring us to "concentrate" on a particular objective. The implication is that if we all think about "not being relegated" this will somehow be more helpful than "dreaming of Europe". Bless.
  10. The fact is that league position matters the most, but at some trivial levels (8th or 10th) it doesn't matter as much as a cup win, or even just getting to Wembley. This isn't hard for any reasonable person to grasp, surely?
  11. They are dropping like a stone. Could well drop out of the league.
  12. Good result. Lambert, Lallana and Rodriguez superb in the 2nd half.
  13. utterly majestic....looks even betetr than it looked live!
  14. Mental. Utterly mental.
  15. Don't know much about him - but does seem to be just the sort of player we could do with.
  16. In other news, the skates are getting very close to being dragged into the relegation mire in League 2
  17. Everton 2 -0 Stoke
  18. It's a pity. There's a real flicker there...but it just don't seem as though it is ever truly going to catch light with us. He has the ability to develop into a really good player...but probably not with us.
  19. Arent the ten nominees on the shortlist tehre by public vote/email or something? If so, how many votes are needed to squueze into tenth?
  20. Beyond cretinous
  21. Is Clyne the most underated right-back in the league? Seems like the "nearly man" at the moment. Just below the radar.
  22. Gees. Thank feck I have Turkish on ignore. Please stop quoting him. People who think they are (a) funny and (b) clever and are, in fact, © neither are so damned boring. For me, it's a close call between the Norris goal for the skates and the Pires goal at Cardiff. The former was damned annoying. The latter killed my mental dream that I'd see us win the Cup. Also, looking back...it was all down hill - for several years - after losing at the Millenium.
  23. Please don't lock this thread. It's made my day. Also, LOOK AT ME. PLEASE...PLEASE LOOK AT ME!!!! Thanks.

  25. Agree with those who say "drop the oldies". Lampard, Gerrard and Cole would not be in my squad. They'd be in my team if I had to win a one-off match for my life, but - as others have said - we aren't going to win in Brazil. We'd be lucky to get out of the group stages, so may as well blood the youngsters. As far as Saints players go, I'd take Lallana and Clyne. I'd probably take Lambert because we are so weak on centre-forwards. I might take Shaw. I wouldn't take Rodriguez. I'd also rather have Schneiderlin than Carrick and Fonte than Cahiill, but that argument has been done to death elsewhere.
