  1. Likewise with the players we produced. It's incredible, really, the level of quality and frequency/volume of the talent in recent years. Off the top of my head, I cannot think of another team which has produced players of that quality, in that short space of time and at the rate we did - and we've another two off the production line since in AL and AOC. It is hypothetical but who knows where we might have been today if we'd stayed up? Would we have kept those players? What ones would have been given an opportunity? What ones would have left? How many of them can realistically do it in the Prem... ... actually, wouldn't mind writing a fictional, topical novel on that scenario!
  2. According to the Brighton public, it's Chris Eubank in that garish truck
  3. Hmmm, whilst I was glad that Rupes kept him in check, honestly... would have much preferred to stay up! I like the lower leagues... It has been fun, it has been exciting and it's been good to see us win more games but - I do miss the Premier League. It's what I grew up with and I guess, in a sense, I was spoilt. I want us to get back there as soon as but seeing as you asked; yes, I'd have much rather have not left in the first place!
  4. He's a good manager - as long as he's allowed to manage *his way* (meaning; jobs for the boys, debatable transfer dealings etc) His lack of success here was Rupes keeping him on leash. That said, besides a few last minute goals, it could have been very different under him. We weren't actually that far away from staying up. One or two goals difference at the end of games, that's all.
  5. I reckon Nige said something like: "Listen - there is finance there; make no mistake about it. It'll help us win games of football - it's as simple as that."
  6. Most expensively assembled side in the nPower Champ this year fluffs their lines again. Such a shame. No, really. Maybe a team massage in Horton Heath would relax a few nerves?
  7. Shock, horror - Holmes is good. Yet every 2 or so weeks we get a thread started with peoples in's/out's and he's always in the majority of people's "out's" :-/
  8. Listen - It's as simple as that.
  9. One of my favourites was Premier Passion, which followed Sunderland during the 96-97 season. Can still find it around on the net, I think....
  10. Ah ze Germans... wasn't that where you said the money was coming from? Y'know, the big money? In fact, you did come across a bit boastful...
  11. A midfield of Carrick, Huddlestone and Wilshere would creat no end of problems internationally. I think we'd see the ball retained, moved quicker, faster but we won't see them until Lampard and Barry give up the ghost. Johnson and Gerrard supporting a striker - not sure who, but probabl Defoe if I was to choose. Much better football side IMO. Why won't they just f**k off ((
  12. Positionally yes, knowledgeably, no
  13. Btw - I wish I had good rumours post, not negative ((
  14. That is always what I've believed - it's mental, not physical. Rickie's never going to be a massive runner or workhorse but he contributes in the right areas and it often comes off. Although I haven't seen much of him myself personally this season, it's fair to say that many of our supporters believe he's under par. That said, I'd love to know how many times he's hit the woodwork this year!
  15. I don't claim to be ITK these days but I was passed this snippet today. Allegedly (allegedly!) Ricky was unhappy with the club in the summer as Middlesbrough were in for him but we refused to let Ricky talk to them. Like I said, don't know if it's true or anyone corroborate (maybe leftback) but it's only what I heard. No idea if he's still sulky about it but it may go some way to explaining his poor form beyond the usual "lack of fitness" line.
  16. I'm sure Portsmouth won't mind shelling out a couple of mill once they've secured themselves another tax break.
  17. I reckon he's here to win games of football - it's as simple as that.
  18. Absolutely amazed at this moron's comments and signature: Ben_AFCB No al Calcio Moderno Join Date Aug 2006 Location Bournemouth Posts 7,618 Good luck Pompey from your South Coast brothers. Stick in there, these things usually turn out ok from previous experience! Southampton fc- Obsessed with AFC Bournemouth since 2010. Lol, South coast brothers. Lol, we're obsessed with them. Won't need to - he'll probably write himself off in 2-3 games time ;-p
  22. Never criticised leftback as, if you took the time to look back at his posts they're pretty accurate. I will say however that I have never liked Les Reed... he should be driving buses, not meddling in football...
  23. I'm terrified that AA is going to be the one advising.. It's like inviting a criminal to Scotland Yard and detailing all your methods on crime prevention and action.
  24. That's true. Probably half that then.
  25. £1m would be a very fair price - for us. Adaptable offensively or defensive, a captain for his club side, playing in a league above us? Yes please.
