  1. Wow, never read that before. Loved it.

  3. This gives an indication of where the club is going: http://www.campdenfb.com/default.asp?title=Swiss-Germanindustrialistdies&page=article.display&article.id=22630
  4. Now, I'm not one for purposeful and "oooh look at me" mourning, it's abhorrent and tasteless but I believe this grief to be entirely genuine. Even some of the more robust characters I know have shed their "hard-nosed" image and are equally, if not more so, mortified. Fair play to you for being the "dignified man" about it all though...
  5. You have a PM, Pancake...!

  7. That's my point. It's not just a few, it's quite a lot.
  8. hypo, I'm not sure it would be that level though. It's almost a 50/50 split. There are some who are genuinely enjoying it.
  9. Yep.. I've seen POL as well, posted about it last night... then I thought better of it.. Some of those horrible bastards are revelling in it. Let them continue, they are absolutely classless.
  10. Thanks hypo. I have to say that I'm not one who does "grief" for grief's sake but feel genuinely quite down about what has happened. Still shocked this morning, to be absolutely honest with you. Personally, I would imagine Markus would have liked us to carry on as we were, that just appears to be the selfless nature of the man. However, there are so many quite cut up now about it (let alone his family, friends and those who are connected with the club) and it just seems right that we have a period of reflection, then perhaps a consultation with the club, family, friends and fans to decide what would be the best, most fitting tribute to the ML. At the very least, we get to play our next home game at SMS so that we can provide some form of public send-off. It's a small gesture, but it's a start. Personally, I'd love for his name and his legacy and memory to be passed down from generation to generation, never to be forgotten. I guess in situations like this you cannot always accurately account for everyone's feelings and opinions. I'm certainly not someone to go all mushy but I cannot help but think what would have happened had Markus not bailed us out and given us a completely fresh start.
  11. Thanks Tim. It's heartening to see that there are some real decent, genuine football fans out there and every condolence from them means alot right now. Like Markus, they won't ever be forgotten. Welcome to TSW.
  12. Fair enough... I just can't see any suggestion as of yet that has been too wayward. Obviously, no-one wants us to go "all Liverpool" but I honestly can say, and maybe I am speaking for a few others here, that I have never once felt this enormous amount of feeling and emotion and need for a fitting tribute to any of the club's previous custodians. I guess with Ted Bates, I didn't feel connected as it wasn't my era. With Alan Ball, I was tinged with sadness. But for Markus, and for what he'd done for us in such a short space of time... well, I just hope we can find a fitting resolution and tribute that we, the fans, the club and his family all agree on. I think, like many, feel obliged that his contribution should never be forgotten.
  13. What do you consider "out of hand"?
  14. I don't think it's madness - and I really hate it when games get postponed! It's fitting that the next game we play will be at home.
  15. I've always been restless on fixture-less weekends but of course, in these circumstances it is totally, absolutely understandable. It seems absolutely fitting therefore that the next fixture will be at home - so we can give the great man a deserved send off.
  16. Went to bed in a daze, woke up in daze, still thinking of Markus. I think this picture pretty much sums up the groundswell of feeling amongst all of us:
  17. Well there is plenty around online suggesting a "Trust Fund" that was set up to ensure his family continued to support SFC.... and some of the papers do allude to this. Irrespective, how are we to know one way or another? Whether it is true, I don't know but if it is, wow. Truly, wow.
  18. Of course we don't know the in's and out's but there is growing feeling looking at the message boards online that Markus was ill and knowingly bought the club and made provisions for the club for after his death to ensure we carried on. If this is in fact true, what an incredible gesture from an incredible man. I am still totally, utterly choked. Before I go to bed I would just like to say once more "God bless Markus, and rest in peace". Never, ever will we forget you.

  20. I'm inclined to start to think this way too. He had made provisions knowingly... blimey. I'm just... totally choked.
  21. 3:20 in... so glad he got to see it
  22. Ah, actually, close this thread. I guess it really doesn't matter. Still feel so incredibly low. I suppose it's best to let the tasteless element of the fish fiddlers support get on with their rejoicing.
  23. I wouldn't say "quite a few"... I'd say there are more on the board actively agreeing with some of the comments. Some are even suggesting it is "karma". Absolute c**ts.
  24. I've no doubt that the manager of the club probably did know... something like this wouldn't have been kept from him I suspect. It certainly explains the "lack" of transfer activity, but of course, this all pales into insignificance at this very moment.
  25. My word, what a man. What a man.
