  2. Totally agree with the best pundit part... Always talks sense and very articulate... makes me wonder why he couldn't transfer his obvious knowledge to management with more success...

  4. Lol, it's quality, isn't it? People on here have said (suggested, agreed... whatever) what Terry has been saying and all of a sudden he's a disgrace. LMFAO. ****ing hell... the bloke cannot win. Fair play JT for being honest (I know, I know...."honest")
  5. Now I don't condone "hooliganism" in any way, but... £30,000 criminal damage = 1 year per 'criminal' £138m thievery = f**k all for those concerned... Hmmmmmmmm
  6. Spot on there Stevo about Beckham... if he was there, jeez.... all we needed is one good delivery something that he time and again provides. Such a shame... :-(
  7. I have always maintained that Beckham would make a dreadful manager. Always. I just didn't think he'd possess the qualities or tactical nous to be a manager. BUT (!) After seeing him looking all dapper on the sidelines, kicking every ball and encouraging the side I've had a change. It was weird... me and me friend were sitting there watching the game and he turned to me and said "what about Beckham as a manager?"... now, I at that time I was thinking exactly the same thing. For some reason I believe it could work. How? Well, if he surrounded himself with top quality, knowledgable coaches then Becks presence enough should be enough to inspire anyone to play for their country. I've no doubt that if you got rid of many of the cloggers, the old guard and brought in young players who looked up to Beckham, who idolised him then he could infact do very, very well. Of course for every good appointment of an idol at national level (Klinsmann) there is a bad one (Stoichkov, Bulgaria and so forth) but with Beckham, I think it might ust work. He certainly possesses the passion for the country and I don't think you'd see any of his sides labour or wilt.
  8. Spot on... y'know, when I watch the interviews and they keep affirming how great they all are they really, really don't sound like they believe it truly. For me though, they are...
  9. Personally, I think we've too many players who are scared. The weight of expectation is and always has been enormous. They'll never admit it publically but it shows when they play. Rushed, forced, rigid... they didn't look like a team who are comfortable with themselves. If you look, on the other hand at the most free-flowing teams; Argentina, Mexico... they don't like scared. They don't like expectation is smothering them. It's weird.. under Sven I was always frustrated with the lack of fluency and professionalism in qualifiers but we seemed to always play quite well in tournaments. With Capello, it appears reversed. It looks like, despite SGE's failings the players were more relaxed. He let them 'express' themselves on the pitch. He left it uncomplicated. He let the players think for themselves. Fabio, perhaps, rules far too much with an iron first. Maybe he is too meticulous. Maybe he is too forthright in dealing with the soft and fragile ego's in the dressing room. Yet, despite all this I do believe we have players of the highest calibre. To me, it's just something that isn't working cohesively at the moment. Hmmm, I don't know. So many different conclusions, connotations, theories.... So what IS going wrong in everyone's opinion?
  10. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/world_cup_2010/8749232.stm Ha, and he has the cheek to question the loyal support England are given? Look around the stadium mate - infact, look around any stadium where England are playing. There is no substitute for our support. Allegedly, the US bought the most tickets but there is no better supported following around the world. Yes, the dutch travel well and yes, the Brazilians do too - but England's following is always exceptional. That said, booing doesn't do anyone any favours...
  11. Likewise - well, them and Portugal. That's not if Sven ****s it up for the Coast... which he's well capable of doing.
  12. Agree with that, especially having witnessed the french mentality first-hand from a previous job I'm not at all surprised. You know our "cheese-eating, surrender monkey, slimeball galic bastard" stereotype? Well, there you have it.
  13. That's fair enough and yes, for me, there were some bizarre decisions and signings. However, I couldn't really complain with the way the team played when he took over and the following season in the playoffs. He's not got a terrible record at management so he cannot be as bad as some people say. On here, you'd think he was the worse than a Stuart Gray/Steve Wigley combo..
  14. A testament to how the intelligence levels have slipped was displayed on my FB status update feed the other day. One particular girl (whose identity shall remain secret) is attending university this year. She updated her status saying she was confused... she didn't know where to find her 16 digit bank account number or sort code on her debit card. :-s Worse still there have been a succession of updates of a showing a similar level of idiocy. Also... I've noticed that the people all around her age don't actually seem particularly intelligent, either. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Maybe it's the X-Factor culture we live in, I don't know. Maybe GCSE's NEED to be easier?
  15. To be fair, I thought Burley did alright for us - certainly not as bad as some people say he did. Granted, some of his signings were **** poor but his teams played some good stuff. Crystal Palace will do just fine next season.
  16. Worth a tenner, surely!?
  17. The only reason I can see why we don't have the big screens is because the country is riddled with disrespectful and troublesome morons and the whole staging of such an event would be more trouble than it is worth. Shame really though most likely to be true.
  18. Brilliant description of JC. Brilliant.
  19. I know their fans are t0ssers, but it never, ever ceases to amaze me the amount of drivel their fans come out with. I'd love them to collapse; apart from Portsmouth, there are very few clubs more deserving. A thrashing in the CC will do for the moment though....
  20. I think with a better prepared manager Ivory Coast should dispatch of North Korea however I think it could be a potential banana skin for Sven. That said, they'll probably just overpower them eventually. N. Korea/Portugal might be interesting, however... Fair play to them.

  22. Still going for me 2 year prediction of elimination... in the final :-(
  23. I actually cannot believe how thick they are. Continuously, dumbfoundingly thick. Oh, wait. Yes I can.
  24. ah ok, cool - i'll join that as well then!
