I liked Ralph but getting rid of him was the right decision. Getting Jones though was a wrong one. still, he’s working with an absolute bunch of shiseters, like the people within the club really. If you’ve missed his tenure at Saints, I’ll sum it up for you: - spent the first 2 seasons protected by one of the best defences in the league, barely having to save anything. - when that got dismantled, his severe limitations were exposed over and over again - yet some people couldn’t see past a few over elaborate saves and 2-3 good games vs Arsenal away. - the longer he spent out of the side, the more people romanticised his ability level. When recalled, he was still poor and even more exposed than before. For some reason, people still refused to see he had no command of his area, could not catch or claim a ball and for his size, was quite a wimp. Still, people clung to the few diving saves and the ball hitting him as some sort of goalkeeping legend. - at Celtic he barely saved anything and luckily for him, wasn’t tested much. - good shot stopper sometimes, every other aspect of his goalkeeping, useless. - 100k a week. For that. Wow.

Yeah, I remember that. I think he recognised it wasn’t working and got it changed. Also I remember we had some injuries at the time as well? Either way, it stabilised us for a while until we got going again. maybe it’s the level of player we have now but I do find it frustrating we’ve got the squad and seemingly the players for it, but they’re absolutely inept at carrying it off.

Play Caballero, Caleta-Car. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them, unlike some of the other losers in our squad. Sign an experienced CDM and striker, proven in the PL. Tell the dross they’re done at this club and get them out of the door as quick as possible. This will be quite an exodus. We all know who these players are.

Perhaps not quite our profile but someone who knows the PL and can be effective in the central areas is a must. to say we’re a bit gappy is an understatement. as for a striker, what is Mr Ings doing other than warming the Villa bench? A loan wouldn’t be a bad idea. It is, after all, pretty much shit or busy time and we need to give it a real go.

I cannot help but feel every name mentioned above by my fellow posters is a better option than the one we currently have. it’s not NJs fault, it was a great opportunity but the madness of it all is the ownership somehow drew a conclusion that he was the man for the job … when everyone else could see he wasn’t. I don’t believe any of us are not seeing what they can see and it’ll prove some masterstroke somewhere down the line. It won’t. With the atmosphere already as poor as it was, the appointment and subsequent performances have somehow managed to plough the sense of anger and resignation to all new depths… and it’ll be taken on out on NJ eventually. This could get really sour. you can almost guarantee the club won’t act on anything until it’s demonstratively too late.
