Done ok to be honest but it was always men against boys. We need a defensive mid though Hojberg deputised admirably but it restricts his other abilities when having to do so. Signing an attacking midfielder won't solve our problems - it's the style of play and perhaps the understanding of it which means we only really create half chances. One player will not solve this and even if it does, what happens when that player is out? Matt Targett was woefully out of position a few times tonight. Quite easy to nullify Redmond... Show him into his left foot. Body language didn't look great from some of the players too. Just an observation.

Agree. He's built like a defensive midfielder but I've always thought he's better alongside a shield player, sitting deep alongside them. Plus he's a bit clumsy and rash and if he was DM or given those responsibilities, he'd see a few cards over the course of the season... Like Wanyama, but without the defensive robustness he offers. If only we'd go balls out for Schneiderlin.

I've probably read it before but how does it actually work? How does it monitor and assess players? How much input does a manager have or does the manager choose from options that are presented by the black box? Just curious.

I do. I called it wrong last time, I was way too hasty. Bottom line is not the rise but the length of contract. Jose wants longer and were only offering a raise not an extension. I wouldn't worry too much about the comments to O Jogo at all, after all... What player wouldn't say the same to the hypothetical question about playing for RM or Barca? You could apply the same logic to Man Utd I suppose though, in a way.
