  1. Personally speaking I doubt I'll find the time to be honest. It's just strange that despite not wanting to get involved you feel the need to flaunt how superior that makes you. If you have so much disdain for the members of this 'mongboard', why spend so much time on it? Don't worry, that one's rhetorical.
  2. That's Brand to a tee. RHLSTP is the best podcast out there, class.
  3. Apparently it's fine to make (on average) 8 posts a day on a message board, but should you actually converse with any of those people in person that's weird. Interesting take. Life's not so black and white that having friends to kick a ball with and being open to any opportunity to play are mutually exclusive events.
  4. Of course, that's the only plausible scenario. My Sunday league team has already started pre-season and I often head to The Common for a kickabout with mates, but I'd still be up for some 5-a-side to keep my fitness up. Might as well use these legs while they still work.
  5. A lot of journalists and fans (our own and further afield) would do well to take note of exactly that.
  6. Safe standing would be two birds with one stone.
  7. Nope - I renewed at the TO but didn't get one of those! Surprisingly large queue when I arrived, half-expected to walk straight up and pay.
  8. On visiting my dad today I found that there's a big bag of programmes he wants rid of. Only had a quick look, though they seemed in decent nick. I'd have to check how complete the collection is but they were mostly from the last few years - there may even have been all of the League One home and away fixtures. Also saw one from the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final in there. Any interest? My parents live in Alton (North Hants) but I can get them down to Southampton if need be.
  9. Any ideas on what time the ticket office will be open today (Saturday)? Tried to search the official site but it's bloody useless in my opinion, no luck.
  10. For those that have renewed online, have they started sending them out yet? I move out of my flat on 28th June but obviously only have until the 21st to get the cheaper price. If not I'll just go down to the ticket office to pay 'n pick up that way.
  11. We won't sign Banega, or certainly not for that sort of money. These rumours are getting ridiculous.
  12. Page 5: "If you have never lived in the UK before, you will not normally have paid NI contributions. This will usually mean that you can’t get benefits, which are based on NI contributions." Not to mention that leaflet was withdrawn in 2008. Still, keep sharing it around and you'll fool somebody eventually.
  13. Slight aside, but it seems that QPR may have paid a loan fee equal to what we originally bought Puncheon for. Not bad going. Did we pay Notts County anything for McGoldrick? Otherwise yes, in terms of paying for a player and then selling for more, it was Davies.
  14. That's quite a handy site to know about. I actually found my last couple of teams on Gumtree.
  15. Equally though, shouldn't all teams be able to scout from the same amount of square miles? It's not really fair that the reach of coastal teams is reduced by roughly half.
  16. Buy the Isle of Wight, ship all of the current residents to Bath and transport all prospects at the satellite academy with their families to our new footballing utopia. Can always extend into The Channel since that's where half of our catchment area is. Job done.
  17. Hmm I've been near the edge of Row V for a while now, will be a bloody shame if that's true. In League One when when the ground was less full the stewards used to be up and down the stairs a lot asking for people to sit down but I can't recall them bothering with Block 42 at all over the last couple of seasons. External pressures?
  18. Fairly plush looking pack ruined by the amateurish use of typography. Two fonts maximum, unless you're going to be very clever. That isn't! The punctuation's not great either... The wireframe panels look better when twinned with our badge so at least the ticket itself is better. Little details, but if Cortese is going to pride us on supposedly being a premium brand then our marketing ought to reflect that. Last season's offering was much more classy.
  19. Enough said? There seems to be plenty of room on all screen resolutions above 1024px wide, not sure how it would be handled on smaller monitors.
  20. Well that hit me right in the feelings. Another vote for getting Ron into the banner at the top of the site.
  21. Very sad that we never managed to get him back to see us one last time. Way before my time, but I think everybody knows the significance of "Give it to Ron". R.I.P.
  22. Sadly I imagine many are put off by the perpetual bickering, knee-jerk reactions and those who assume their opinions become more special if they post them in every thread, regardless of relevance. Adding some diversity of content would probably render this place a horrendous time sink, so I guess it's swings and roundabouts.
  23. I'm the polar opposite of a bedwetter It was built up as some big reveal, the least that could have been done was to prepare an image befitting an announcement. Perhaps it's just because it jars when compared with the brand-centric approach we've become accustomed to under Mr Cortese's iron rule. I hope they spent a little longer on putting the kit itself together, that's all!
  24. I was more concerned with the silly black blocks behind each logo (the silver version of ours would've had plenty of contrast), but yeah the artifacts around what should be sharp edges looks amateurish too. Bodes well for the quality of the kit (and yes, I'm well aware it'll probably just be a template with our badge/sponsor affixed)
  25. That announcement image looks like it was thrown together in Paint! Somebody didn't have the source files for the logos...
