Here we go.
-
I'd like to introduce Nigel Adkins, who is clearly much better at football team talks than I am.
-
Why would they be taking photographs of the megastore?
-
I'm finding it quite strange at work. People just going about their business and to them it's just another week with just another weekend coming up, but to me it is massive, the biggest weekend of the year and I can't bloody wait for tomorrow to get out of the way.

The first match against Leeds. Set the tone for the whole season. -
My nerves aren't frayed, I'm just bloody excited. This is what its all about, I want football to make me feel like this!

Going to be mental. Might wear shin pads in case we score.

Brian McDermott being disrespectful
Barry the Badger replied to jasoneuelllfanclub's topic in The Saints
It all depends on how you judge the best team. If you judge the best team to be the one that wins in style, dominating most of their opposition and playing in high scoring matches, it's us. If you judge the best team to be the team that gets the most points, it's them. Personally, I think the best team is the one that sits at the top of the league table after 46 games. Hopefully that will be us. -
Brian McDermott being disrespectful

What they've acheived after missing out in the playoffs and then starting this season badly has been amazing, similar to what we acheived last season but in a more competitive league. He has every right to be shouting about it. -
Brian McDermott being disrespectful
Barry the Badger replied to jasoneuelllfanclub's topic in The Saints
After 7 games they were 11 points behind us, they are now 3 ahead. I really don't see how it's disrespectful to point out they've been the better team in that time. The context of this was also an interview about Reading, it's not like he ran up to Nigel and shouted it in his face. -
Would love to be there but just can't do another now. Went to Palace, and then Peterborough with the hope it would be 'the one' and we didn't quite make it. I will have to content myself with the pub and a night out in Southampton afterwards, will be jealous of those who are there but sure I will get over it, town will be awesome anyway. COME ON YOU REDS/YELLOWS!

What's a proper noun?

It is so nice to see good players coming here and getting better. Got so used to good players being signed and then getting gradually worse until they left. Next season we will see a faster Billy Sharp too, sure of that.
-
Do they just give football interviewers a list of leading questions to memorise? A great performance there, that must tell you something about the spirit in your team? A comfortable win, you must be delighted? It must've been nice to see Billy Sharp get on the scoresheet? The league table must make pretty nice reading for you at the moment?
-
It was great. Although the trouble with it not being packed comes when we score and everybody just falls forward until they reach the bar near the front of the section. Was a laugh though.

Should Brighton be investigated for Saturdays game ?

Someone who had seen the goals perhaps? -
Should Brighton be investigated for Saturdays game ?
Barry the Badger replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
I have just re-watched the own goal and the suggestion that he meant to do that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. -
Yes, because Adkins would definitely waste one of the five spaces on the bench on a player who he can't play, in order to make him feel better.

How do you know it would just need to be the GK and the guy who scored the OG when you openly admit you haven't even seen the highlights? I have no problem with accepting the possibility of corruption in our game, I'm sure it does go on somewhere, but the example you have constructed is utterly ridiculous. -

Don't be ridiculous. Of course they have a chance in the playoffs, that's why everybody hates the playoffs, it's a lottery most of the time. For your conspiracy to work, there would need to be quite a number of Brighton players in on it to pull it off. It simply does not add up that a number of Brighton players would prefer a very small windfall to the possible chance of Premier League football and the riches/bonuses/status/salary rises associated with it. You may feel they have no chance in the playoffs, but the majority of footballers have pretty high self belief, and they will feel that if they get there they can do it. -

You are mental, and I would be saying that whoever started the thread. There is no way that Brighton would lose a game on purpose when they are within touching distance of the playoff. No chance.
