  1. Here's a picture i took inside the Kangaroos pouch later that day. What more proof do you need?
  2. had a great time in رئيس الخنازير on Khulafa Street over there a couple of years back when i watched Saints v Millwall. The owner Malik is a great guy, an Al-Shorta fan though but knew all about Saints and our history, not shy about putting back the Arak with you whilst on duty. Bar had a few Armenian air stewardesses in there who had seen the Saints play before and by the end of the game were joining in with the We hate Pompey bit as Malik and I sang Alan Pardews red and white army. A few more Araks later and things got a bit hazy but i can assure you if Baghdad didn't know who Saints were at 1pm that day, they did by 1am the next, a couple of happy Armenian sweehearts too.
  3. had a great time in the Kangaroos Pouch on Florence Street over there a couple of years back when i watched Saints v Derby. The owner Bruce is a great guy, a Melborne Fury fan though but knew all about Saints and our history, not shy about blowing the froth off a Castlemaine XXXX with you whilst on duty. Bar had a few Dutch air stewardesses in there who had seen the Saints play before and by the end of the game were joining in with the We hate Pompey bit as Bruce and I sang George Burleys red and white army. A few more Fosters later and it got a bit hazy, but i can assure you if Cairns didn't know who Saints were at 1pm that day, they did by 1am the next, a couple of happy Dutch sweehearts too.
  4. another piece of British culture erased in the name of political correctness.

  8. I heard Wrexham is a hotbed of Saints fans.
  9. had a great time in el hombro de cordero on Calle Empedrado a couple of years back when i watched Saints v Spurs. The owner Pedro is a great guy, an Atheletico Bilbao fan though but knew all about Saints and our history, not shy about the necking of shots of Anjelo reserva with you whilst on duty. Bar had a few canadian air stewardesses in there who had seen the Saints play before and by the end of the game were joining in with the We hate Pompey bit as Pedro and I sang Nigel Adkins red and white army. A few more reservas and cigars later and it got a bit hazy, but i can assure you if hanvana didn't know who Saints were at 1pm that day, they did by 1am the next, a couple of happy Canadian sweehearts too.
  10. it's insecurity Kelvin. Anyone is different should be feared type mentality.
  11. I shall likely attend this match now. I tend to avoid 3pm saturday kick offs due to the drunken louts in our fan base who seem to revel in drinking as much as possible before attending soccerball matches and embarassing the club with their rude, aggresive and obnixious behaviour. 1.30 sunday kick offs are the perfect time for me. I shall stay at Grans house where I enjoy saturday kitchens best bites on BBC2 before heading the game safe in the knowledge that the unruly element will not have had time to become intoxicated. I can watch the game from my seat in peace and analyse the performance of our players without being irked by the tedious chanting of the mindless, drunken minority who are stuck in the 80s.
  12. Cortese was obsessed with making a marquee signing. At the time we were using an overseas scouting agency, there is nothing unusual in this and they were also used by a few other premier league clubs but they weren't SFC scounts. Obviously he was recomended to us but Cortese chased him and eventually signed him. Alarm bells were ringing for me when Adkins clearly knew nothing about the signing and Ramirez comments were "they pay me so much money". It was evident that this wasn't the work of "a commitee" it was an ego signing from our former CEO and a huge amount of money wasted.
  13. Always knew you were a goer.
  14. Great. Good chance for our overseas fans to cheer us on. Might even pick up some new ones if The Saints can produce a fine offensive display against the blues of Chelsea.
  15. it wont happen. No way will they win it.
  16. I like this. Southampon, South Englands team.
  17. no, they even go on to say it's not further in that article.
  18. No but it was definitely the end of beginning.
  19. Could you not say the same for Schniderlin? He's been off to Arsenal every summer since he signed him but hasn't yet. Dont see anyone question if he's any good.
  20. They were Corteses marquee signings. Remember how Nige was quizzed about Ramirez a few days before he signed and didn't have a clue about the deal? £30m down the drain for those two plus their wages of £60k a week, a buildling project which went twice over budget, i make that about £70m down the drain and zip all money coming through the doors from sponsors and corporates yet he's still a hero to some, just shut up and sing his name.
