Okay, I'll rephrase my point. The technology, ie WIFI, was available, what wasn't there and was too expensive for it to show an ROI for clubs in England was people not using it all week, then 30-50,000 all wanting to be connected for 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon. Even now only a few vendors have got it right. As i said above Liverpool spent a fortune of xirrus wifi kit and it didn't work properly. Cisco and Ruckus have got it about right now but the rest are still lagging behind. So yes you probably could have connected to a baseball stadiums WIFI 5 years ago, but if 10000 others had tried to do it during a break in play it would have fallen on it's arse. That's what I'm referring too. A scalable solution for bursty environments so clubs aren't paying top whack for access points, licences etc that are only being used for for three hours once a fortnight.

If I was Les Reed is Skype Lovren, Lallana and all and show me ripping up the bids for them and throwing them in the bin whilst proclaiming 'that is what I think of that' Is the Southampton way

http://m.v3.co.uk/v3-uk/news/2266642/manchester-city-signs-cisco-and-o2-for-stadium-wifi-rollout Big fanfare from Cisco when this was announced. Liverpool spent nearly £250k on theirs and it didn't work properly.

You'll have 20000 fans inside the stadium on their phones racing to be the first to post 'corner to saints'
-
You'll be able to post on the match thread whilst at the match, yes ?

There are technologies available for bursty environments like sports stadium where scalability is needed. Cisco use their connect the crowd at man city. Liverpool spend a fortune of xirrus and it didn't work properly. Ruckus do a few stadiums in the states and are getting a foothold in the UK. The technology is there now, it wasn't 2 years ago. Clubs get ROI by advertising, downloadable programmes rather than paper copies, in game betting etc. Working as a 'printer cartridge telesalesist' I am involved in this regularly.

Keep it away. There are enough helmets on Facebook/twitter etc during games as it is.

Les is clearly proving himself to be the mastermind behind our rise up through the leagues. It's good to see him taking a role with the profile that a man of his talent deserves. It's pretty evident that the new board recognise what a significant role he has at this club. I think in the future fans will see him as a kind of modern day Ted Bates. Obviously without the same length of service, but with an impact just as productive.

that always makes me laugh. Drop me a message pal. I'm in London quite a bit next few weeks, catch up for a couple.

You would think most clubs outside of the top 6 or 7 would give their right arm to be us. A strong, ambitious and forward thinking board, a well known, experienced new manager, a talented young squad, an academy the envy of many clubs in Europe, a revamped training ground, money to spend and should any of our players be sold then the promise that the money generated will be poured back Into the team. Players will come and go and maybe we will need to rebuild a bit but the desire is there to keep improving which was emphasised by the appointment of arguably the best manager we could have hoped for. We are certainly a club for the rest to look up to as to how things should be done. -
Against, like the rest of the media, they all hate us.

You dont get 52 stitches in your face by a lacking commitment pal.

Turkish can reveal that RK was shown around the training ground 2 weeks ago today.
-
Thank god we didn't extend the stadium when those on here were demanding it. The last few weeks has shows the backbone of our support, a bit of stormy weather and a large section are considering turning their back on the club.

A Watford fan, like yourself, would find Watfords training ground far more interesting, surely? -
I liked the bit about him not keeping players who don't want to be here and getting into disagreements with those who think they are bigger than the club. Seems like he's got one of those to deal with.

Every time I see Ronald Koeman now I think of that scene from the Business, '"the Dutch are in the club"
