  1. I wasn't deliberately highlighting the fantastic achievements of black people, that would be patronising, in a look at what they've achieved, despite being black, type way. Those that have achieved these things are people, not black people. I was merely pointing out that these days it could almost be a complement to be described as a black so and so given black people are widely considered to be cool, attractive, good looking etc. Yet there is the undercurrent of "look at what these black people have achieved" that goes hand in hand with some of the "celebrations" of black culture seem to have these days. The fact that people talk about MOBO awards, Black footballer awards, Black History months etc is still segregating black people as different, even though the intentions are postitive. Until we get rid of all that nonsense then black people are still being segregated in society, postively or negatively. For example in football as this is a football forum people like Paul Ince coming out and demanding more black managers for example, when a black manager Chris Hughton for example, does well it's celebrated as a triumph for black managers. Why? Isn't it just a bloke doing a good job? Isn't that deliberately drawing attention to skin colour? How are the next generation supposed to see just people when "look at what these black people are achieving" is constantly rammed down their throats?
  2. Good idea, but the only problem with that is you'd only ever get one sub every week. Guly off, SDR on. There is also a market to be had in SFC branded colostomy bags to help the multitude of people that go down stair on 40 minutes for a p*ss. The ROI for this is impressive. Working off £30 ticket the average fan loses £1.66 per game in terms of missed minutes paid for by going downstairs. By charging £89 for an SFC colostomy bag they will be saving money and seeing an ROI in only 56 games. Although of course the design and letter will change every season and no one wants to be lumbered with last seasons version. It will also give more drinking time due to no queing for the bogs meaning demand is higher so the price of beer and food can be increased. Everyones a winner.
  3. Apologise. I will remember to stay logged in 24/7 and make sure i check every message board before posting anything in future.
  4. No it doesn't. If someone is behaving like a bastard then what's the difference between stating the fact that the person that is doing it was black and is behaving like a bastard to someone who is fat and behaving like a bastard? It's only offensive if people think there is something wrong with being black, which there most definitely isn't.
  5. It's those sort of lame tactics that were the reason why you didnt get the job Um. As a FOTB you have the ideal opportunity to instigate some ground breaking revenue making opportunities. I still think there is a lot of mileage in the text the song service. Fans subscribe to a text service of £2.25 per text and can vote for what song they want sung during games. The winning song is announced at 10 minute intervals and the song word put on the score board with the music played over the tannoy so everyone is in time. Business can sponsor the song and have their name read out. For example "and the winner of the song to be sung on ten minutes with 3498 votes, sponsored by Skandia, is OWTSGMI, all together now, Oh When the Saints......."
  6. I watched it at the ground and then again on telly. Does that make my views more important and a better overall perspective than yours?
  7. I agree, i dont understand the obsession with having to be next to the away fans. One of the best atmospheres at SMS was the MK Dons JPT semi when we had 4/5's on the Northam and it looked and sounded fantastic from my seat the Itchen at that time. The Chapel could be like that, imagine the noise 6,000 fans could create and the other stand would join in as the atmosphere would spread.
  8. I agree. Sundays affair was fairly bland compared to some in the past. Compare that to the last West Ham v MIllwall game and it was like a church fete.
  9. I agree. But for it to be considered a derogatory term then it's imply there is something wrong with being black. What is wrong with being black? Nothing. If anything its a positive thing. So unless people are living in the past, how can being called a black bastard be an insult?
  10. http://sport.uk.msn.com/video-clips/?VideoID=1j44rxk1d Class.
  11. I quite agree, but really these days is being called a black bastard that offensive FFS? F*ck me, your being compared to the same group of people as the best boxers, fastest runners, some of the best musicians. It's not like being compared to someone who is going to die early because they cant control their eating habits. Some people need to get the chips off their shoulder and stop living in the past.
  12. I wouldn't call someone a black bastard. I wouldn't use the word bastard usually, i'd call them a c*nt. On your other point, white people are no longer considered the superior race. If anything it's gone full circle with black athletes, black music, black fashion and black culture thriving in modern day Britian. We have black player awards, black history month, the MOBO awards and so on. If some people are still determined to live in the past and claim being called black is derogatory then thats very sad. Some people need to move on though and live in the modern era where colour doesn't matter as you quite rightly say and being called a black something could well be considered a complement.
  13. But would the people in the Jamaican club be offended by it because they truely belive it to be offensive or because they have been conditioned by the media and dogooders to believe that stating a fact is offensive? Being described as black is only derogatory if they believe there is something wrong with being black and they aren't happy within themselves. Some fat people get quite upset by being called fat bastards, others more comfortable in their own fat can laugh it off. I obviously wouldnt go into a club and deliberately provoke a response, that would be stupid and a deliberate act of racism. Plus if they weren't playing up there would be no need to call anyone anything.
  14. I quite agree. At least when i was a kid bullying was real and you got to have a bit of a tear up if you were lucky. These days it's restricted to some kiddie crying to his parents because someone called him a 4 eyed mong on facebook, twitter or by text message.
  15. "Let's take the 'fat' insult. During the Victorian age, being fat was a sign of prosperity. Now let's examine the colour of one's skin. Would a white person in the UK feel unduly insulted if he or she was called a white b*stard? Probably not, because being white has never been something that has been seen as a bad thing here." Please explain how being black is a negative thing. This is what appears to being being implied by calling people a black bastard. Being fat was seen as a great thing in the Victorian times so using history as your bassing fat people should be delighted to be called so. THis is what you are basing your argument that being called a black bastard is offensive.
  16. I still think the best response to any of their nonsense would have been "we dont understand, your pikey bullsh*t we dont understand" Tried to get it going once but didn't take off.
  17. I'd call them Wes Brown, that'd hurt 'em more than any colour slur.
  18. If you asked a black man what colour he was what would he say? If you asked a bald man what hair cut he had what would he say? If you asked a ginger what colour his hair was what would he say? So what is the difference between calling a black man playing up a black bastard, a ginger man playing up a ginger bastard and a bald man playing up a bald bastard? They are all stating facts.
  19. I don't see how calling someone a black bastard is racist. It's wisely considered to be because all the dogooders Come out with their pitchforks wanting hangings everytime colour is raised in what they decide is even a remotely negative context. In the real world it doesn't work like that. If a black bloke is playing up then calling him a black bastard is simply stating a fact, he is black and he is being a bastard. If you said "you black bastard, I want to stab you because of the colour of your skin" then that is something quite different.
  20. I have heard great things about Riga and Talin. Bratislava was another one mentioned if anyone has been there?
  21. I've done Barcelona before and loved it. First night we were up the Ramblers and second night in the more upmarket places down by the beach, went in a place that was owned by Patrick Klivert apprantly. I'm fancying Berlin.
  22. where would you go? Current places on the list include the obvious of Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin, Hamburg. Done Hamburg before and was class. Dont want somewhere like Amsterdam or Prague, too overdone. Oh and it's June so Poland and Ukraine are out as well.
  23. doesn't every team?? There is a reason why they aren't two a penny as well.
  24. Why the f*ck was he nicking peoples drinks? What a pikey.
  25. BUt you do post about football on a football forum from time to time. Strange that neither of those did, yet are on a football forum talking about politics after arguably our biggest game of the season. Hope the christmas lights look good.
