Robson, Platt and Pearce are hardly comparable. Pearce a couple of decent seasons at City and then relative success with England U21's, Platt has done nothing of note at all in management and Robson, although having a decent start, has never really cut it as a manager. A promtion in his first season a couple of cup final defeats but also a couple of relegations. I'd be happy with Pearce.

That'd be good, although half the goons on here will no doubt question his management pedigree as his record is comparable to Zola, who hasn't got the right pedigree for some.

He may have made a few duff signings, which managers dont but on the whole he did a decent job there. Midtable finishes and two cup finals for a club like Middlesborough is a decent return. In fact i believe their League cup win was their first every trophy was it not? Yes they were beaten by Sevilla, a very very good side, i remember one or two other English clubs being well beaten by Spainish sides over the past few years too. Two years UEFA cup qualification and a couple of FA Semi finals throw in there as well? Would you take 3-4 mid table Premier League finishes a League Cup win and a UEFA cup final over a 4 year period? IMO for a club like Boro, that is a pretty decent return. You cant critise his record at INTERNATIONAL LEVEL as a reason for him to be a top League One manager FFS!! Not for one minute do i think he would be interested in the job mind.

I cant believe some of you lot are turning your nose up at Steve McClaren, Alan Curbishley and questioning Zolas mangement pedigree at Premier League Level! People need to get a grip of where we are, we are a league one club FFS!! In the same division as managers like Alan Irvine, Danny Wilson, Greg Abbot, Eddie Howe, Paul Tisdale etc. People saying they dont want McClaren as he hasn't got what it takes to get us out of L1 or Zola has no management pedigree, he is did a reasonable job in the PL and McClaren won the Dutch league, Carling cup and got to the UEFA cup final FFS!! I dont agree with AP getting the chop but these guys are more than able replacements, honestly, some of you lot are mental! (not saying for one minutes any of them are interested mind!)

Don Howe would be my prefered choice. Been there done that, also coached at International level. Great tactician too, for L1 anyway, dont mess about with it, get it long. However i think Tony Cascarino has all the ability to make a great manager. We should get him, maybe with Don Howe as his mentor.

I just heard Tony Cascarino is being stongly linked. He wants to get into management and is a friend of Corteses. Plus he had got an Italian sounding name.
