one of the greatest ever threads on this forum had people on it claiming we can sign anyone we want and are the best club to join outside of the champions league teams and should offer the players we want so much money they cannot say no. I dont know how big a squad people think we need or how many player we need but one look at our squad says we have approximately two decent players, by league one standards for every position, of course players will get injured, suspended etc, thats the nature of the game but people are obsessing and panicing that we need to buy this, that and the other or we are going to go on a massive slump, it's just crazy!

I'd love him back, excellent player at this and Champrionship level and would improve the squad and the first team.

If no one leaves we dont have a problem, you say Lambert wont score 30 goals this season, probably not, but last season he scored half our goals, this season Barnard, Gully, AOC and are all weighing in more, even Chaplow has scored 3 (i think) in the time he has been here, i dont think a central midfielder scored many last season. OUr squad is good enough, provided no one leaves, obviously then we will need to look at it. How many teams in this league can bring in a player like Puncheon when a midfielder is injured? As i have already said if we can get in a couple of quality players for this league to improve on what is here, a Charlie Austin for example then brilliant, but i dont think just buying squad players to make up numbers is the answer.

Match reports, internet forums, highlights, radio and media streams, looking at the squad list etc, Is that a fair assumption to make? Interesting that 90%, probably more, of Saints fans on the "this squad is strong enough from promotion" thread and also BHA fans think the squad is strong enough, in fact some BHA fans say we have a "huge" squad. Now i have no idea if the Saints fans on the thread mentioned or the BHA fans have seen our side in one game, every game or no games, however the general consesus of fans that do or dont to games is that our squad IS good enough for promotion, only a handful seem to disagree, which is fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion but only one seems to constantly bleat about it on every thread possible and fail to suggest why he thinks it isn't good enough or where it should be improved, just that it is because he says it is, this person then goes onto accuse others of having agendas. So why on earth would a player who is good enough for the Championship come to a League one side as a "cover" player? Lets not forget, first we dont know how long Lallana is out for and secondly it is only around 6-8 weeks worst case, if totally unfounded rumours are true. His career isn't over he isn't out for a year or more, 6-8 weeks is not a particularly long time, so no decent player of the standard we want will want to come here as a cover player. Some of you lot need to get a dose of reality at the sort of players who will join a league one side to bench warm. Of course if you are talking about buying 20 odd good players to play in a squad rotation system, then that is a different matter all together.
