I think 4-4-2 is a dated formation and the top clubs seem to be moving with the time and adapting. Personally i think we would be better off 'doing a Chelsea' and going 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 when attacking.

Not at all, the fact is the echo said 'he decided his future wasn't at St Marys' and Pardew said 'he has gone back to Preston, there was no decision to be made' those were Pardews word in the echo. This suggests that he had decided before it had even got to negotiations stage that Pardew didn't have a decison to make on if he should be offered a deal or not as Carter had gone back to Preston already. Then tho and behold, three days later he is signing for Millwall on loan, a CCC club. People again arrogantly assuming everyone wants to join Southampton and all we have to do is wave enough cash in their faces.
