Football Manager 2009 - Southampton Save Game Thread
Papa Shango replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
Am I the only person one here who never manages Saints? I played with them once on FM 05 or 06 I think, but that's it. -
If we aren't promoted within the next two seasons there is something wrong. It's far more unrealistic to think we are going to do badly. We are by far the richest club in this league now. We have the facilities and fanbase that most League 1 clubs would kill to have. We also have quite a few players who are more than capable of being star performers at this level, and more will surely follow. I've heard people on here saying we might struggle to stay up next season. What planet are these people on? Unless we appoint Tony Adams or someone equally bad, there is no chance we will even come close to being relegated. I've spoken to Leeds and Leicester fans and they all say League 1 is a really poor league, even compared to the Championship. We'll be fine.

Blimey, 2041! How many hours playing is that? I normally get bored after about 6 or 7 seasons. Think the most I've ever done was about 15 years back on CM 2000/01 with Norwich. -
The chants at Bournemouth were just a bit of fun. No need to take them so seriously. I think everyone knows we aren't going to go on a Man City style spending spree any time soon.

Good work. How long did that take? -
Can't see this thread going too long.

Has it be this one surely? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09RwRRqKgnM

Poll: Would you be happy for Pearson to be our manager?
Papa Shango replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
Great post Darren W, totally agree with all of that. -
Marsden was poor in his last few months here. Even after Strachan announced he was leaving it wasn't all bad. Anyone remember playing Man United away, Saturday lunchtime game? One of Strachan's last games, we lost 3-2 but could have easily won on another day. We played so well.
-
Curbishley has said he only wants to manage in the Premiership.
-
I mentioned him the other day in another thread. Would be an excellent choice I reckon.
-
My order of preference from those in the poll 1. Strachan 2. Keegan 3. Coppell 4. Pearson 5. Tisdale 6. Hoddle
-
Nice to hear chants of "Gordon Strachan's red and white army" at Bournemouth today
-
The thing about Rasiak is he has always looked lazy, even in our play off season when he scored all those goals. When he's not scoring, he's not doing much, but that's always been the case. He more than makes up for it in goals. I really hope he stays, because he's pretty much guaranteed to score 25+ goals in this division. Don't think people should pay too much attention to what happens in friendlies. Hull lost 4-0 to Crewe last season and they had a brilliant start to the season. I'm sure that quite a few of the people who played in the last week won't be regulars next season. We will have new players coming in, and hopefully a few more coming back (eg. Schneiderlin, Euell, Wright-Phillips, John etc) I had a fun day out at Bournemouth today though, despite the result. Great turnout from the our fans, must have been about 1500 Saints.

Getting the 11:43 train in and 7:45 back so plenty of time for the pub. £4 return as well so can't complain.
-
Best manager in my lifetime. Words can't express how happy I would be if he came back.
-
Scratch that it's just me being thick. Put in the wrong CVV code. Forgot I had a new card through the other day All ordered now!
-
Checked a couple of hours ago, have plenty of money in there.
-
Didn't work for me, got this Sale payment failed. Please check your transactions Declined

Tony Adams Alan Shearer Glenn Hoddle Iain Dowie Dennis Wise
-
Would prefer Strachan, but I'd be more than happy with Keegan as well.
-
De Guzman plays for Deportivo doesn't he? Bit unrealistic.
-
England were struggling in their qualifying group before Hoddle was sacked (Lost in Sweden, drew at home to Bulgaria, unconvincing win over Luxembourg) He should have been sacked for poor results, never mind what he said. It's common knowledge he was very unpopular with most of the players as well
