I'm not sure that's true. I think many Newcastle fans dislike him because he's been to close to the people in charge. He had his head so far up Freddy Shepherd's arse he could see what he had for breakfast. He never once criticized Shepherd, despite the fact he was clearly completely incompetent and hugely unpopular. To be fair he's not the only one up there. That David Craig on Sky makes me want to throw up whenever I hear him speak.

Shearer would be one of the last people I would want as manager. We'd be better off keeping Wotte. Thankfully it won't happen because Pinnacle are finished.

What an epic final, for the second year in a row. Really wanted Roddick to win, but Federer is a class act.

How long before we reclaim our rightful position above the Skates?
Papa Shango replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
It's not ******** at all to say we are on a completely different level to the likes of Exeter, Yeovil, Bristol Rovers, Carlisle, Hartlepool, Oldham etc... We will be back in the Championship at the absolute latest 3 or 4 years time, I guarantee it. -
Maybe not, but we probably need it to do well in the Premiership, if and when we get there. Surely everyone wants us to be as successful as possible, and obviously we will be a better position to do well if these guys take over. Trying not to get too excited until it goes through though. Been let down so many times in recent weeks, so I'll believe it when I see it.

Not this season maybe, but we we'll be back in the Championship soon enough. We are much much bigger than most teams in League 1, it's only a matter of time. -

This is not true. If they don't get taken over I think there's a very good chance they will go down next season. We won't be down in League 1 for long. -
WTF? Where's the fun in having no money? I'd love it if we had obscene money to spend, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't.

I thought Forecast looked dodgy as anything. Agree about the blonde left back though, he looked decent. Anyone know who he is? -
Jo Tessem on Trial next week (He's not really)(Actually he might be)

Watch back the goals from the first half of the 04/05 season and you'll clearly see that Higgy was responsible for plenty of goals we conceded. Most memorable mistakes were at home to Bolton where he gave away a penalty after needlessly hacking down a player who was running AWAY from goal. He cost us another goal in that Bolton game and in the 2-2 Highbury game when he didn't push up with the rest of the defence and played the opposition onside. Pretty basic stuff. And who can forget the own goal in Redknapp's first game against Boro. That's just of the top of my head, there were more, believe me. Kenton was a weird one. I remember a few times he had some absolute monster games and looked like a top Premiership defender, but more often that not he looked pretty bad. -

They were all crap, but nobody cost us more goals than Danny Higginbottham that season. That's an absolute fact. -
You'll be a bit late then, because the game has been moved to Friday.

That's simply not true. The best side in the world (Barcelona) play mainly through the middle. They hardly rely just on width (and neither do a lot of other good sides) There isn't one right way to play football.

It was 3-0. Stewart scored all 3.

Scotty Parker springs to mind immediately after he singlehandedly got Charlton back into the game with two wonder goals, in the 3-2 game 03/04. One of the most exciting end to end games ever. Damien Duff tore us apart on more than one occasion. Especially at Ewood on a Monday night SKY game (2001/02 I think). Darren Huckerby often seemed to play well against us as well. I remember one ice cold December afternoon at Carrow Road a few years ago he ran the show for Norwich. Others I can think of are Trevor Sinclair and Freddy Kanoute one time at the Dell for West Ham. As mentioned above, Alen Boksic showed what a class act he was for Boro at The Dell. Bobby Pires always seemed to score against us as well.

Definitely on according to the Eastleigh website http://www.eastleigh-fc.co.uk/home

The whole 2003 cup run really. Starting with the amazing 4-0 win against Spurs, one of the best Saints performances I've ever seen. The win against Watford at Villa Park is most probably my favourite game I've ever attended. Obviously losing in the final was a big disappointment, but the whole build up to the game and the day itself were amazing. I was so convinced we would win that day.

Fair play to the bloke. I don't actually think Wotte is quite as terrible as some people think. I think we would have probably done a lot better had he been in charge for the whole of last season. He definitely wouldn't be my first choice to be in charge next season, but I think there are worse people out there (Including some that always get talked about on here).

Good riddance. One of the most overrated players ever. Has been poor for two years.

The 'fans' having a pop at Matt on this thread are a disgrace. He is beyond criticism.

Wasn't the whole idea of a subscription based forum to help pay for a server that wouldn't crash/be really slow? What a farce. I am glad I have cancelled my subscription.

Says the person who said Kenwyne Jones will be better than Drogba and Torres.

1. O'Leary didn't sign Angel or Balaban. They were there long before he was. 2. Angel was actually pretty damn good

Good riddance to sh*t players. Overrated big time charlie, it's a good deal for us. Hope Surman is next out.

Not sure why so many people are so down on O'Leary. He did reasonably well at Leeds and Villa. How can so many people rubbish O'Leary, and then put forward rubbish like Dowie and Shearer?
