But then the whole forum is drivel so what do you expect? Somebody sees a football man within 30 miles of Southampton and suddenly he's going to be our manager? Just about to delete the shortcut to this forum - I really can't stand any more. I can't remember when I read anything worth while. Supposed Saints fans slagging each other off, supposed ITKs pontificating - any news that breaks won't be on here first so what's the point?
-
Quite agree - Lawrie Mac is one of the best people ever to have anything to do with this club yet people continually slag him off. Unbelievable and pathetic. At least he's trying to save the club he so obviously loves.
-
Your credibility is zero so why bother?
-
Did you notice where the original poster, Oz, is based? You guessed it - Portsmouth!
-
I've had a good idea - I'd like Michael Wilde to come on to this forum to explain his actions over the past few years. Why don't we get the more intelligent forum posters to threaten to kill him, wish suffering on his family, and call him as many foul and disgusting names they can think of - that should do it shouldn't it? I imagine he'll ignore your comments and feel very glad he no longer has to put up with such 'people'.
-
I was about to say the same - these death wishes are way out of proportion. Makes me ashamed to be associated, even via a forum, with people like that. Shame on you all.

3. Sack him... Isn't that the way it's done?
-
And it's all Southampton, all Southampton FC It's by far the weakest team, This town has ever seen
-
Yawn yawn here we go again - wake me up when the deal is done..
-
Don't think I'll miss the dross we've had to endure this season.
-
It really bugs me that people feel they have to right to judge others like this. 27,000 turned up in the club's hour of need - they paid their money, and if they want to leave early after seeing a load of dross then why shouldn't they? I felt like leaving at half time during a different recent match it was so bad. Didn't go but wish I had. Yeah, I know plastic fans and all that crap, but I for one am not prepared to turn up week after week to watch rubbish - but anyone who does has a perfect right to. While I'm in the mood - that article in the Times was it about Southampton being a massive club is spot on. Big clubs have big histories and we don't have one. 27 years struggling in the top division doesn't constitute a big club IMO. There are other teams who have achieved far more than we have but don't keep banging on about being big clubs.
-
Wouldn't this mean he is resigning as Chairman of the plc, as that is the business going into admin - but would still remain a director of the football club?
-
Still hasn't learned has he?
-
You've got to give them chances before they can score - Saga wasn't given anything to score with - service was poor.
-
Whatever we were lacking it certainly wasn't fight - they gave their all but it's not enough - there's no-one capable of prising open dogged determined defences. Don't know why we are continuing to hump long hopeful balls forward to massive centre halves who just mop them up with ease. I know we've abandoned the total football concept but some passing to feet would be nice. Frustrating afternoon - we're not out of it yet but if we play like that we won't get the points we need.
-
Any ST holders out there who would like to get me 2 tickets for Derby? My daughter is coming down from London for the game so the saving would be a big help to her. (and me of course!) Email me on donsteele@ymail.com Thanks

Selection dillema vs Birmingham on Saturday?
Steeleye Saint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Don't really see what you could change - most of them pick themselves now. The only option would be Lallana for Schneiderlin, and Wotton for McG - but he has been linking play well recently. Stick with it I say. You've got the subs to change things if necessary. -
I still think we'll get beaten at Birmingham though

Hey what's going on Mick? On another thread you're talking positively about staying in the CCC this year and even challenging for the Prem next! Your moods are swinging mate! -
You're getting a bit ahead of yourself there I think Mick. Let's make sure we are in the CCC next year - it's not over yet by any means - before we start thinking about a return to the Prem! But I'm a lot more optimistic about survival now than a couple of weeks ago that's for sure. :smt041

I'm not too sure about Gillett. While he is a very hard worker and certainly gives 110%, he can't keep possession for very long and his passing isn't that great. Aerially he's not great either, but I wouldn't expect a bloke of his size to be able to win headers against some of the huge players in the CCC. You should have seen some of the headers he DID win - I couldn't believe such a small feller could jump so high. Didn't really notice a lot of his passes going astray. Thought the whole team did well - I haven't been convinced by Lallana in the past but thought he played well too. McG has found his position in think. Showed a lot of bottle to claim the penalty. He's actually a very skilful player and links the play well.

Well if YOU think it was average we'll all have to agree andl bow to your seniority. By the way, did you forget to take your anti-depressant today?

Which Ex-Boss Would Most 'Welcomed' Back?
Steeleye Saint replied to TijuanaTim's topic in The Saints
Nobody wants Lawrie Mac! His teams served up the most exciting attacking football we've ever seen - won us the FA Cup and came 2nd in the league! Who can come close? Heady days... -
All the Wotte bashers have gone quiet haven't they?
