Who is this week's mystery signing?
Gordon Mockles replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Can't substantiate what you're saying but sounds like the usual Nicola humility. -
And in case you missed in on the post match thread... Hooiveld's goal on 17mins for you: We're seemingly using a lot more training techniques in matches now, in open play and from set pieces. It just gets better and better. Love it!!
-
F*ck me! You must be a hit at parties with your surgically removed sense of humour! I thought it mildly funny and it lightened the mood when the match went a bit stale second half. The crowd were in great spirits...other than the dark rain cloud that seemingly hovers above your head. Lighten up. Don't berate others just because you lack charisma. Sour indeed!
-
Decent game. Cruised first half. Bit sloppy second but controlled most of the game. Hooiveld's goal for you:

That is fair comment. CB Fry does have a propensity for chastising & getting harshly worked up by any differing opinion. However, much of the opinion on this forum is ridiculously fickle & missing the point hence my lack of posting these days. It gets tedious arguing with so many trolls. Just look at the reactions to reports of a nasty but widely witnessed incident with Seaborne & people seem to antagonise & belittle anyone who dare pass info. from the real world cos nothing happens in their cyber world & they don't know so it's clearly a lie. Extraordinary viewpoint. I understand why many ggave up posting transfer rumours. Back on track, it's not the first Stelling rant. Pretty poor when Matt Le Tiss struggled to get tickets for a game, even paying. I think it's clear, despite running the club well, Cortese is juvenile & petty. Little man syndrome. Look at the snipe at Oxo leaving. Smacks of a spoilt or only child who is used to getting their own way. Shame really.
-
Right. So I'd be pragmatic in dismissing reports directly from friends that were witness to the antics that evening. I'll keep it quiet next time. What happened was grossly reprehensible & I was shocked by the reports of arrogant & idiotic behaviour on Seaborne's part. I thought he generally doesn't come across as that type but I have to admit, what do I know since I've never met the guy. However, when people I know & trust tell me what happened, I use my own judgement & trust them. Especially when multiple reports all tally up. If that upsets you, so be it but remember, this is a chat forum.

If defending myself against misplaced, hot headed opinion is self-righteous then I'll adopt your incisive label. I'd respond to the rest of your post but I don't actually understand what it meant. Also, I'm largely confused as to how some posters have leapt to crazy intimations that I somehow support the assault for merely commenting what I heard - Seaborne hadn't helped himself by his alleged conduct in the club (I thought it a no brainer that the actions were utterly reprehensible & to be condemned although clearly not by some wild comments). Should anyone accept being verbally & physically assaulted in their job? No way. Should anyone physically harm another person so much that they hospitalise them? Absolutely not. Hope that clarifies my view on matters & thanks for the public service announcement.

Well, they're not are they. Ridiculous, sweeping generalisation. Unless you go in some complete dive, worst still in Portsmouth or Hackney. I've been clubbing & playing at clubs for 18 years collectively & can count on one hand the amount of trouble we've had as a peer group. We have always gone out to enjoy ourselves & we're friendly to everyone we meet. For the record, I'm not the biggest fan of doormen & particularly some of the young Albanians I've encountered but they're not all bad. They're supposedly there for your security. I'm not keen on the staff Junk use. However, Orange & Pop are some of the most professional in town. Some people are over-reacting & missing the point. It's nice to come back from a weekend & find out Dan's improved & not in a critical condition & let's hope those detained by Hants Conts. are penalised accordingly. People need to ensure who actually carried out the assault before condemning factions. It may be door staff, it may be a disgruntled drinker, rival supporter, anyone. I am aware of a fracas upon Seaborne being ejected from Junk but that was before the more serious assault. That's how I understood it. I'm sure the police will easily resolve this nasty assault & let's hope Dan can return to football. Heart breaking for him & his family if not.
-
I'm not aware anyone has said bouncers had beat anyone up. Seaborne "allegedly" slapped a member of the door staff, was warned about doing it again, then was "allegedly" hit/ejected after "allegedly" slapping a member of staff for a second time. What happened after he was ejected, I do not know. We know the results. I'm sure there were many witnesses outside. It's a busy area in the evening. I added "allegedly" to appease the cyber numpties on here who tend to froth at the mouth & bust veins towards anyone uttering anything about our players/club. "YOU'RE ALL LIARS YOU! ALL OF YOU!! SOURCE! SOURCE???"* wild banshee eyes* LOL
-
Totally missing the point made by the poster who I agreed with. Players don't have to live in recluse. Should you stay in all week to avoid getting mugged?! No. You can't account for everything & in this case, Dan didn't really make a good bed to lie in regardless of my viewpoint.
-
Why would I not have a clue what happened? I wasn't there but have friends who were. Friends I know & trust. I can't speak for the integrity of your friends but I can mine. Believe what you like. I don't need to justify it. It's a comment. Try not to let it bother you too much. Ahhh, the internet warriors. Gotta laugh!
-
Wow! You've a winning personality. Bad day? Picked last for the playground football team or some other explanation for your warm & enigmatic charisma?! LOL Don't tell me - another angry man that doesn't like conversation yer frequents an interest CHAT forum to "converse"!! LMAO *sigh* You know the solution... It's hardly breaking the enigma code to hear of a nightclub related incident, esp. considering my social activities & second profession. You should try socialising. You might enjoy it & make a friend. Back on track, not read the multiple pages yet but it's good to know Dan's more stable. No need for such violence.
-
Not nice news although I've learnt Dan did not help himself according to many. He was seen lording it in the club, saying how he earns more than anyone else in the club, googling himself to girls proving he’s a footballer (when most didn’t recognize him), being absolutely obnoxious, bugging women, slapped a doorman/got warned/did it again, got hit. You can't go around slapping doormen and expect no action. Obviously some others took it further. Not condoning anyone being assaulted or hospitalized but he obviously didn’t help himself with that behaviour. Silly boy! Cortese will hit the roof at more bad press. He won’t tolerate it. It's a shame some of the arrogance football and earning big money breeds. Let's hope he recovers soon as no-one deserves to be hospitalised.
-
Yeah but you thought the most destructive Chairman in the club's history was a good thing so that invalidates your opinion for having any credence whatsoever!! LOL

Scott Dann for £5m. Break The Bank Time
Gordon Mockles replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
Cos it's a chat forum numb nuts! It does what it says on the tin. You don't like the heat...get out the kitchen with ya b*tchin' or contribute something worthwhile rather than berating those that want some discussion. *sigh* WOMEN!! -
Saints historically fall behind first and come back strong and win but we seem to have changed that trend so I've put my bets down: Half time 0-1 Saints, Final Score 2-3 Saints @ 175/1. Worth a couple of quid! (also did 0-1 F/H, F/S 1-2 Saints @ 55/1). COYS We've had no easy games yet but this must be the toughest but I am keeping confident.

JOKE REGIME, Clifford and Lowe deserve to be ignored and forgotten for all but destroying our club with hair brained ideas. The current set up proves how to progress when you have a modicum of common sense and ambition while not directing what little money we had towards the wrong areas. That was what frustrated most - no money into the team and stupid, cheap appointments yet money seemed to easily fill the pockets of those on the board. Still, those nightmares days are over and best forgotten.
-
Whilst we certainly have a better looking squad than the former Manchester United front line, I think the clue is in the response & your "female" friend may like c*ck a bit too much. Lallana gives that away. Lol Having said that, while maybe not high in the dignity stakes, at least she's honest!

We have never been interested in Maynard.
Gordon Mockles replied to hypochondriac's topic in The Saints
Even if it didn't, does it matter? If people find no relevance, rhetoric or disinterest, simply ignore rather than gain negative support!! Why the hell is starting a thread for discussion on a football (discussion) forum attention seeking? Esp. if of no interest yet still compelled to comment. I find inherited opinions & forum bandwagoning more annoying. Snide more so. That's about the same logic as training to be a brickie & not liking houses or building! Jeez!! Personally, on topic, I think we have the deals already done for Gorkss & Rodriguez but there have been final terms (hence the other drip fed scout rumours emanating from a usually silent club) finalising & possibly Burnley awaiting their new striker/replacement. It would have likely been dead before Oxo. Unlike our past chairmen, these days, conversely, things are done the correct way. -
NC is going for promotion this season, isnt he ?
Gordon Mockles replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Sorry, what? Oxo going means little. He would have run riot but it's early doors on De Ridder who looks a decent prospect and we may even bring in further back up wide. We made the most key signing which bolstered and galvanised our centre in Jack Cork and have brought in Fox which may be an improvement (I think it will) on Harding (who does make mistakes). As you say, it depends upon who else is brought in but we will bring in more (CB for sure). However, we are stronger with Cork in the centre alone and with Connolly on great form. We are stronger from the pre-season alone. Lambert, Lallana, etc. look in great shape, both physically and, key, mentally. That's the crux of the matter. We have the right spirit and determination which I believe we have Adkins to thank for. -
I don't, realising you're being 'tongue in cheek'. Whilst he runs the club well, I've had enough of the global elite and bankers governing. Time to give the banks back to the people. Then maybe our economoy won't fail like it is and hyper inflation....OOPS! Back to football. Great news if true. He and Jose were my next main concerns for re-signing contracts. Key to us, more so Fonte.
-
The club tried a damn lot harder to keep Oxo (managed with Lallana which the past regime would NOT have done!) than that t*sser from the Cotswolds did with any player hitting form. I remember Bale's Dad talking about how the club tried to persuade Gareth to stay..."Gareth, we'll REALLY look after you" and offered him a pitiful contract. An absolute joke for someone of his undoubted ability. Still, if he turns it down which any self-respecting footballer would have done, the club can use the "but we offered him a contract" mantra and sell him to the first reasonable bid. Even better, we'll cut off any future payments to sign a nobody keeper than no-one wants but he must be able to turn good and rise in value because he's young. I'm so glad our current board are polar opposites to the "dark days" of the egotist board of self-serving tossers who almost killed our beloved club. We actually have confidence decisions made are sensible. Under Lowe you could bet 99% of your life savings that every decision relating to the sport - football was a bad one although he was blinded by arrogance and thought he really did know best. A scary combo. Scarier morons on here actually defended him. Still, those days are past history, consigned to the history books on the top (or bottom) shelf. OWTSGMI

Use that money & bring in Maynard. Gorkss. Job done. I believe deals have been made already. Cortese isn't daft!
-
Difference being this board care about the football, club progression & not lining their own pockets. They'll re-invest. Oh, not to mention this club finally has competent management. Good business.

I'd agree with this post. He had a good game and a great finish (as all 3 goals were in differing ways). Classy team performance. Hammond does need to get more goals as he seems capable of (Peterborough). I believe the commentator mentioned that's his first goal at St Mary's in 1.5years/15 months, something like that. Not taking anything away from him cos he played well but I was surprised when Pardew spoke of Dean being an attacking midfielder as he doesn't strike me as attacking, although evidently not defensive either. Good game, good performace. Pleased to see Dean with a great touch at times which I am hoping remains as his touch in the past has let him down. Well done Deano - keep it up. I would agree Morgan and Cork are classier, higher quality players but it's horses fopr courses. Cork looked very assured so I'm over the moon as the pre season and coaching and management of Adkins and team. FINALLY a good start. Long way to go mind.
