  1. I'm pleased he has money & ambition which can only be good for the club. I'm not happy hearing about all the disgruntled staff & legal cases emanating from his ruthless & allegedly immoral attitude towards people & fans. Petty squabbles & such with the media are pathetic too. Rid of one tosser it seems, in with the next.
  2. Have to admit, laughed at a mate's blunt but astute comment. Boro won't do much this season. Strachan only signs sh*t Scottish players!! LMAO
  3. You're joking about pace aren't you?! Like Surman, Holmes has the pace of a snail! Crosses well but is really lacking pace.
  4. You lucky man! That's a site to behold. Did the taker stub his toe & punt it straight at him or was it a proper, adult, really powerful shot?! To be fair, in Shilton's day, decent English keepers weren't around in their droves or as talented as modern day footballers (Gordon Banks, different story. He was immense, especially considering the molten cannon balls they fired at him keepers in those days. You'd practically get concussion heading the ball) despite Peter being a good shot stopper. I didn't say Shilton had never saved a pen Davey, old chap. Hence the question! I merely inferred he was absolutely shocking at stopping penalties hence wondering if anyone had seen one. You have, fantastic. I've seen him many times, England & Saints, but couldn't recall any. I'd love to see footage of all the pens against him. Then you may well agree he was poo at saving penalties. However, I'll go back to the big top to make you happy!! Lol
  5. I understand you & back up your comments on both Lines & Antonio. Unless both respective clubs saw it as Saints interest & hurried through new contracts because they were conscious of Liebherr's money & desperate to fill the coffers, I do not know. However, I do think they may have potentially ruined the transfers because Cortese is (allegedly) a hard nosed c**t with little humility (I'm hearing more & more, sadly) & blatant actions like that to squeeze money from clubs may work in some stupid money circles like Man City but I fear Nicola doesn't like to be hard balled & he strikes me as thoroughly ruthless (which I've no problem with, protecting his boss' money & for the greater good of the club). I just hope that harsh attitude doesn't transgress the good nature of a football club, despite most clubs having an ugly side behind the scenes which isn't commonly known to Joe Public. We rid ourselves of one tosser. Let's hope it doesn't go t*ts up with another megalomaniac. Least this one seems to have money & ambition but I truly hope all the talks of legal cases & such die down. We want a happy club, happy staff & a chairman of some dignity. Not one who hires, fires, stomps on civil rights & treats proletariat like sh*t just cos he has loads of money. Rant & digression over. I'm so looking forward to the new season & truly hope it doesn't go t*ts up. It shouldn't but I'm not convinced we'll win the League Outright. This is Saints. I'll ne happier when we've brought in that void we've had for too long. A commanding midfielder. Aside from RB, this was key, key to our progression & a huge point if weakness all season. When you have to bring on Wotton, you know your squad has a huge hole! A Quashie type midfielder - midfield general please. Everyone p*sses their pants over Hammond but he's not all that & does lunge in & risk red cards a lot. He's ok, not a bad player but he's neither that defensive or that attacking so a bit neutral to me!
  6. Hope he's nothing like Peter Shilton. Least he's not in goal. What a t*t! Whilst we had Matt Le Tiss, arguably one of the best penalty takers to ever grace the game. Conversely, Shilton was possibly the worst penalty saving keeper (unlike Kelvin!) I have ever witnessed. Other than helping ruin out World Cup mixed in with a bit of handballing from Diego, I'd regularly watch Shilton get beaten by 10 year olds & regular members of the public in penalty competitions and the sad fact was, you could see Shilton was really trying. Has anyone ever seen him save a pen? He may have but I missed it. Anyway, dunno who this lad is but it gave me the chance to have a derogatory rant at Shilton! He served us well but I thought keepers were a lot cr*pper in those days for him to be revered as an England No.1....I preferred Chris Woods! ;o)
  7. Tosser alert! You've gotta laugh...every time...when people on an internet chat forum instantly get resentful & narky of ANYONE posting a rumour. Whether substantiated or not! What do they come on here for, exchanging knitting patterns?! Lol Get over yourself!
  8. Rubbish! Wanted blue & yellow but it's better than last years away kit aberration! Not overly enamoured with the home but realise the tradition.
  9. A former music friend of mine, namely Nick Muir (some of you may know him better as John Digweed's former right hand man & Bedrock stalwart, of Heaven Scent fame) used to play in the Glitter band. He hates people knowing that...OOPS!! LOL
  10. Anyone who feels unsettled that they've not heard substantiated rumour transfer news (and to be fair, with transfers and the current regime, that doesn't - thankfully - happen much or other clubs would nip in before us) needs to relax. Anyone who thinks that the transfer mill and our scouting network grinds to a halt while Pardew or Cortese is taking a well earned break need to also relax and think a little more. We have new employees who are also involved with procurement, both for junior and senior squad members, all of whom have been brought it to spread the workload and assist the club. Those that worry about timelines and the impending season need to also consider that we currently have a World Cup underway (easy scouting via BBC/ITV if not there), players on the annual break and full transfer window dealing largely being carried out from 1st July until the first month of the season.* * Just to calm those worry merchants, just cast your memory back to Pardew's signings so far and the manner in which the club dealt with these acquisitions. Fonte, Lambert, Harding, Hammond…I don't remember much in the way of rumour on here (other than some last second mentions when they were probably already spotted at the club) until they were actually announced. I think Puncheon may have been rumoured but, then again, we fortunately seem to keep it fairly air tight. Those that haven't, Elliot Ward springs to mind and rumours (whether true or not) about other players like Stock and Danns and Facebook pages soon amounted to nothing, if indeed any of the usual internet cr*p was of any relevance and truth. Cortese seems to like to keep his cards close to his chest and rightly so. It's the professional way to do business. I am 100% confident that Pardew has identified his targets to Nicola and they will resume the status and updates from their scouts and SFC Staff upon their return, if not already. Who is to know that some transfer rumours aren't leaked as disinformation (Calderon for example) while the more serious targets are tentatively inquired about. We shall find out soon enough. * I personally believe we will bring in one or 2 right backs (or a utility Thomas like centre half that can switch to RB considering Jaidi isn't getting any younger, one of which I see as a younger player to develop into the role for the future like Seaborne, but right sided. Maybe even the Eastleigh lad!), a ball winning midfielder and a box to box man. I'm still curious to see how/where he plays Dickson and we all know a striker is a key, key role to fill and this crucial signing will not be poor imho. I really think they'll be looking for a striker that can link with Barnard but, crucially, has the exact attributes to benefit directly off Lambert's ball winning/lay off capability. Much like that Niall Quinn/Kevin Phillips partnership. Connolly is ideal for this but fitness is a problem. A pacey, fox in the box type player will be, imho, top of the agenda. Purely supposition but it makes sense and ties in with previous Pardew comments. A wide right player is also missing having lost both Antonio and Papa (both pacey and both could slot in on the right as well as forward), I expect this area to be addressed. Puncheon is more suited to cutting in and central imho. Much like Lallana although both can clearly cut it playing wide. The World Cup isn't a bad time to review players from overseas also if they're able to adapt and we have pre season and it's the perfect time to acquire such players. Least they'll be match sharp.
  11. Serves the tossers right. So they may be harsh sentences but they need to send a message. Don't want to do time, don't incite violence on our streets your chavvy, hood wearing wastes of space!!
  12. zzzzzZZZZ People going on and on and ON about stripes is bad enough (we're red & white - doesn't have to be stripes!) Docker still harping on about his dislike for the sash. We get the point, we did 1st time you brought it up but we have the sash so get over it.
  13. James Corden is funny. Nice bloke with good attitude too. I think some of you need to lighten up & have a humour implant!!
  14. I've not been able to predict anything so far. Even had Torres as next scorer Mon night, then he got bloody subbed. Have tenner on Rooney golden boot & Spain to win @ 45/1 with bet365. Also did a few top scorers (Tevez @ 33/1, Ronaldo...) Think only Ronaldo has scored. Only once in a 7-0. Arghhh!!!! Got Gerrard first scorer tomorrow (bet it'll be Lampard as he bet on him last time). 3-0 result to us. COME ON ENGLAND!! Also, Ghana 2-1 @ 20/1 & USA 3-1 @ 16/1. Unlikely but gotta go for decent odds! Didn't put much on.
  15. Silly question old boy! Think everyone in the world by the South Africans & some lonely trolls would say a resounding NO!!
  16. I spat out my drink reading that Calderon article...Gilipollas. The article on their website is laughable. Biggest load of bullsh*t/tail between the legs I've ever heard! Basically, he really meant to say - "my parasite agent tried to squeeze as much as possible wage wise (& bonuses) from Southampton but they're too astute & professional & told me to foxtrot oscar. Now, I'm pretending I never wanted away from Brighton cos I'll be seen for the tosser I really am. I'm a greedy b*stard!!"
  17. one player doesn't make a team & vice versa, a poor team doesn't make a good player bad. I'm hoping u were being tongue in cheek although may have been a bit of tumbleweed blowing past, eh Skacel?! ;0)
  18. No, he agreed to cancel his current contract, thus leaving early to join Everton. Saves the club wasting a few grand on pointless wages. Beckford still remains an absolute tw*t in my books. Modern day bad attitude of a certain element of footballers like Dave Mc G, Leon Best, etc. Think they're better than they are & bigger than their club.
  19. Dunno about the leagues but bet365 have Rooney 10/1 top scorer and Tevez 33/1 and Ronaldo 18/1. Combination of Rooney top scorer and Spain to win : 50/1. Stuck a tenner on! As usual, unlikely to win but worth a squirt! Couldn't find League One odds up yet.
  20. They all look great. I think the blue and yellow is always a great colour combo. Surprised how much I like the yellow and blue stripes, as well as they yellow and blue sash. The thick red and white stripes look great although thinking the sash has to be the way for the traditional look they wanted.
  21. Don't think it does btw. I was paid my winnings by bet365 after the season's last game. Long before the play offs.
  22. I only won £70. Was out of work at the time so couldn't more commit money I needed for food, bills, etc. My odds were 6 or 7/1.
  23. The shooting & final ball doesn't!
  24. Morrison had a touch of the Lallana about him (except he had pace!) does the hard bit & totally fluffs his final ball. Saying that, Lallana does better on assists. Morrison had a few chances to completely set someone up & instead made a lame shot on goal towards the keeper!
  25. I hoped we'd get Danns & possibly Ambrose but we all expected that t*sser Warnock to come in for the better Palace players & sure enough, looks like QPR have landed Ambrose. Hope he misses out on Danns in favour to us just to stick those hypocritical words back down Warnock's throat!! I have complete faith in Pardew & our scouting network. If we've missed out on Arfield, I will automatically assume it's cos we have better leads with better options. Gone are the days of justified cynicism & people with no clue about football running the show & over-riding football pros to massage their own ego on pointless whims & signing injured/poor quality players. Cortese seems not afraid of treading on toes but what he may allegedly lack in empathy, he seems to gain in self discipline, professionalism & certainly ambition & determination. Digressing slightly. I hope we bring in the quality & back ups, which I am sure we will. I fully expect 2 RBs for instance. Keep the faith. Look at how the transfers have been without the luxury of pre season & preparation. I expect an old Pardew signing from previous clubs along with Surman.
