Exactly. We were drawing at half time and sitting 10th. We ended up losing and moving up two places thanks to the teams around us dropping points. We certainly didn't battle to get to 8th. More a case of it being gifted to us.

He probably laughed when it happened to 'Arry when he was being interviewed live on Sky.
-
Wow, thanks. Glad you liked it.

And another one who doesn't get a joke.
-
Pathetic that some of our fans don't get a joke.
-
Exactly. Nobody seems to be offering odds on Jokanovic.
-
This is probably the only time we'll ever agree on something on this forum. :-)

This.

If all the 0-0 draws had been 2-2 or 3-3, I don't think his position would be in doubt. The problem is that given the options we have in midfield and attack we should be scoring more goals. The fact that we're not suggests that there's a problem with the formation and tactics and he doesn't seem to know how to address either.
-
Yes, Jokanovic. This is exactly how he's got Fulham playing. People keep on bleating on about Silva but we'd be far better making an approach for Jokanovic.
-
The thing that gets me is that we have plenty of midfield / attacking options in, Tadic, Boufal, Redmond, JWP, Long, Gabbi, Austin, J-Rod, yet the end result is always the same. Surely with a list of players as varied as that you should be able to create and score goals? No, not Saints under Puel. If you can't get these guys scoring goals on a regular basis then there's something fundamentally wrong.
-
Agreed. We seem to be the masters of leaving things late. If we're getting rid of Puel then his replacement needs to be in within days so that we can be identifying potential transfer targets etc.
-
Watch us lose to Man Ure and only muster a draw against Stoke, whilst WBA & Bournemouth both win their last game.
-
Jokanovic. Seriously, do some reading about him and how he and his backroom staff manage. Watch the way he's got Fulham playing. He'd be ideal for us.
-
Took the words right out of my mouth. Jokanovic would be the perfect fit for us.
-
I'm no Puel fan but I think I'd rather stick with him over Silva. Clearly we're never going to go for a big name if Puel should get the boot so the only man for the job has to be Jokanovic.

I can't believe some of the things people are saying about J-Rod. He's a striker and we all know that strikers grow with confidence. How can you expect him to improve and get back to where he was when the manager rarely plays him. Bringing him off the bench with 5 mins to go is utterly pointless. 2 goals against Bournemouth and dropped for the next game has to be one of the worst bits of management I've seen from Puel this season. J-Rod will go. He'll find a club who are willing to give him a decent run and I believe he'll find form again. I'm fairly confident he'll come back to haunt us.
-
Exactly. I still prefer to see him starting ahead of Redmond. He works harder and given a run in the side I think he'd have delivered more goals as his confidence grew. Puel's done nothing for his confidence but you can't knock him because he still gives 100%.
-
Looks good to me. I'd maybe go with JWP ahead of Davis. As I've said elsewhere. I'd rather see J-Rod and Long playing for us than Tadic & Boufal. They've got more passion and grit. Tadic & Boufal are typical of that type of player - 1 good game in 6 or 7. At least Long J-Rod give 100% every time they pull on the shirt.
-
The one thing you can't criticise Long for is his effort. I think he's been badly treated by Puel. He'd be one of the first names on the team sheet for me. I'd rather lose Tadic & Boufal than Long and J-Rod.
-
Whose fault is that? The buck stops at Puel. He's persisted with certain players when they've not been in the best of form (Tadic, Redmond, Boufal) and left out others who clearly still have something to offer (Long, J-Rod). It's just a shame that he decided to try something different when the season is all but over.
-
We'd be mad to let J-Rod go. He's still got something to offer. As I've said all season, I'd much rather have him and Long in the starting 11 than Redmond and Tadic.
-
Jeez. My prediction wasn't far off. :-)
