  1. David Lallana.
  2. Total rubbish! Adam's father posed a hypothetical question to Weston Saint before the MU game. 'If you were offered double the money and CL football what would you do?' That summed it up nicely. The money was obviously the decider.
  3. I've used TCAS on the ground to track inbound traffic range/alt.
  4. No problem. We are trained to take off, lose an engine on the runway after V1 before V2/VR and climb away, go around with a failed engine. Abort auto lands on the runway in 75m visibility climb away and lose an engine. Two engine go around in the above is a piece of ****. It's happened to me many times last time a PAA 747 did it to me very low at Manchester. Mind you if it happened in fog it shouldn't but could end up in a catastrophe. Presumably the two aircraft were on the same radio frequency if not shades of Tenerife North.
  5. Be interesting to see how Johnson, England's best right back copes.
  6. This boy is a cracker and speaks fluent English. I think we may have a better footballer. He seems to have terrific vision and a high tempo. I think he will do well.
  7. He shouldn't need to strike. Tell him and Liverpool £25m and he can go. Otherwise he has played his last game for Southampton and don't come to Staplewood unless called in. He will be informed in due course what is happening. If he doesn't go to Liverpool he will be loaned outside the Premier League, a replacement is being brought in. If he changes his mind in due course and wants to be part of the club let us know. It will be considered if the squad of 25 isn't finalised.
  8. A football team is a funny old thing to paraphrase Jimmy Greaves, one minute it is performing far better than everybody expected because the blend/chemistry between the players is top notch then for no apparent reason it can't buy a result. It's where we are, towards the end of the season after Rodriguez was injured we were basically one paced and struggling to score. Lallana now says he was watching Liverpool, he hadn't been tapped up had he? we were pretty poor at home to Liverpool, coincidence? Lambert was a good player on borrowed time but the Liverpool interest in him virtually finished him as a Saints player. Shaw was a no brainer once he played for England, he was going, the offer was too good for a left back, still work in progress, for both him and the club. Now Lovren kicking off, £25m is a good price for him good riddance. Schneiderlin may stay, I've not heard of a serious bid yet. Usual Spurs crap and Arsenal targeting Khedira as no1 allegedly. At least he has spoken to Koeman. As far as I am concerned players who don't want to be part of our team will do more harm than good and would make it impossible for the team to perform at it's best. All the squad have got to want to play for us, there is no room for malingerers. As far as Lovren is concerned and as Liverpool appear desperate again we should inform him not to report back and we will let him know in due course where he will be going as we are bringing in a replacement. £25m and he can join Liverpool, otherwise as things stand he has played his last game for Saints and will be loaned out unless things change drastically and he wants to play. Put the ball in his court.
  9. Probably tried to pass.
  10. Best of luck Mike. Ron has your message.
  11. Do we really want the extra exposure to one club if we sell them three players, total over £50m? What will Lovren do on 1st September if we haven't transferred him?
  12. No need for Lovren to strike put him up for sale at £25m up front to anybody who wants him but £35m to Liverpool or Spurs Cash on the nail. another tapped up by the Liverpool Saints so F them all.
  13. £60m buys a lot of replacements. Never was a dream just a continuous improvement. A left back an ageing striker and an occasional goalscorer no matter how pretty to watch can be replaced and the squad beefed up. Whose to say we won't be better than last year.
  14. But would be unfit or unavailable for international selection, wonder how that would have changed the equation. Either way I think we were right to move him on and move on ourselves. Best of luck getting the ball from Sturridge and Sterling part of England's problem not the solution.
  15. Every player has a valuation, if we get an offer that massively exceeds the value it's good business to take it. Lovren and Schneiderlin will cost a total of about £50m. If a club wants to pay that then let them go.
  16. The problem presented to Koeman was how he would play and how the players would fit in. Lambert was allowed to leave, in my view he earned it for his five years. Lallana still here but does he fit the way we might want to play. Guan let the cat out of the bag regarding the management's view that maybe the time has come to part. In hindsight I think Shaw was never going to stay, so it was a case of how much. It may well be that replacing those three will be done quickly. As for Schneiderlin and Lovren, whoever is going to want them will have to match the Shaw/Lallana fees, that in itself will concentrate minds and if the valuations are met, fine. As far as I'm concerned a solid centre back and a midfield goalscorer plus Cork and Wanyama would do. That would be pretty much covered by the Lallana/Shaw/Lambert fees. If they stay, great, but if they go their fees added to the probable summer budget would still give us in the region of a further £80m approximately to strengthen without Osvaldo and Ramirez fees if they go. We could well come out of the pre season in good shape.
  17. We had a good team last season but were very thin if injuries occurred. We certainly could do with another centre back, somebody to score goals from midfield, more goals and cutting edge up front. An international class goalkeeper to compete with Boruc is a necessity. We now can get at least one left back. If any of Lallana, Lovren or Schneiderlin leave we can replace them but ideally they stay. It will initially be difficult to blend and replicate the teamwork of last year but it can be done. It may be that the strengthening of the squad and improved contracts might steady the ship.
  18. Explain?
  19. IMO Southampton want to keep Shaw. The fee for Utd will always be too much unless it reaches a silly figure and Utd are still in. They just haven't realised that or maybe they have. Same with Liverpool. The fees are ridiculous but that is not our problem.
  20. How is he going to do that. If they want Lallana, Lovren and Chambers it'll be a pound down and a pound a week. Joke club. £75m cash more like.
  21. Or is it £30m including add ons with the basic fee paid over 5 years with £5-10m up front. £30m cash is one thing instalments are quite anther. Lallana £25m £15m over 5 years and £10m dubious add ons, no way.
  22. This story stands along with the Southampton meltdown in January and the whole team leaving in May. Great journalism by the Sun. Headline should have read " Naïve 18 year old footballer led on by unscrupulous glamour model selling her story yet again"
  23. I get the feeling that Roy Hodgson doesn't really believe in a way to play. As 4-4-2 is now deemed out of date he seems lost. If you play 4-2-3-1 you don't play it like England did. The 2 are defensive the fullbacks attack wide the front four interchange and the ball gets passed. England played the 2 off the cuff the front 4 tried to run with the ball the full backs pushed up and the 2 left the central defenders exposed and Baines just stood and watched while Suarez dropped off Jagielka. The moves that entailed passing quickly ended in goals.
  24. Basically he picked his best eleven as he saw it, however he made no effort to pick players that formed a blend that would make the team performance better than the sum of the parts. We were just an eleven slung together. Some managers get it Hodgson doesn't.
  25. Hodgson is a very average manager. His team yesterday looked way out of date, passing slowly at the back with little or no movement then players at the front running up blind alleys. The tempo was slow, the pressing non-existent, the lack of movement and passing up front made it easy for Uruguay to block us and win the ball. Internationally Sturridge might score the odd goal but along with Sterling and Welbeck lacks awareness. We squander opportunities because we have no clinical finishers. Those three forwards need too many chances to score a goal and flatter to deceive. In football terms they are thick.
