I think our default fee of at least £25m for players is good as it means the clubs coveting our players have to pay through the nose or back off.
-
If he is unfit get second opinion. If he is not contactable contact his agent, fine him the standard two weeks wages. If/when he turns up discipline him and fine him continuously as appropriate until he conforms.
-
If he is going get a replacement ASAP but don't let him go until just before deadline. Certainly not before 16th August.
-
Could well be the player on the right of the camera, he looks similar and his headphones are white as in the Croatian airport photo yesterday.
-
IMO now he has gone that's the way it should stay. We no longer have to accommodate him so players can be brought in that fit. He was a brilliant individual and one off but we nonetheless had to fit players around him. It won't be so easy for him at Liverpool.

According to reports, Rodgers is in the middle of a £135m spending spree and expects to sign another six players. I bet that wasn't on the horizon when he signed for Liverpool. It may well be that apart from the money this could be the mistake of his life and unless he plays regularly could spell the end of his international career.

A salt of the earth story. Don't let anybody tell you football people won't empathise and want to read it.

I think by the time, if it happens, Lallana wants out of the Liverpool bench we will have moved on and no longer need to make special arrangements to allow him to flourish. It's an area of the team that in itself is a weakness because the idiosyncratic has to be accommodated to the detriment of some other players. He worked for us now he has to fit in. Best of luck with that.

Liverpool fan reaction's to Suarez - are they for real...
derry replied to Saint86's topic in The Saints
We can replace Lallana and Lambert but Suarez was a once in a generation player for Liverpool, it will be interesting to see who they try to replace him with. I can see their goal threat drop by 50% ish as Suarez did so much more than just score goals. The England failures won't cut it. -
I like him, only Lambert could play in a killer pass other than him. I think he has vision and may well either play on the right or in the hole although I can see us bringing in another goal scorer there. That would give us a pretty lethal cutting edge. I think we could become a better and more effective team than last year if we keep or replace Lovren and Schneiderlin (no bid, RK) and bring in some further competition at GK, LB, CB, AM where injuries with inadequate cover effectively ruined our start.

What a load of smarmy bull****.
-
Face to face, we usually talk to him at home games or rather used to as he'll be following Adam at Liverpool.
-
It'll be another 'not a penny less than £25m!'
-
David Lallana.
-
Total rubbish! Adam's father posed a hypothetical question to Weston Saint before the MU game. 'If you were offered double the money and CL football what would you do?' That summed it up nicely. The money was obviously the decider.

Near Miss at Barcelona Airport. Officially No Problemo !

No problem. We are trained to take off, lose an engine on the runway after V1 before V2/VR and climb away, go around with a failed engine. Abort auto lands on the runway in 75m visibility climb away and lose an engine. Two engine go around in the above is a piece of ****. It's happened to me many times last time a PAA 747 did it to me very low at Manchester. Mind you if it happened in fog it shouldn't but could end up in a catastrophe. Presumably the two aircraft were on the same radio frequency if not shades of Tenerife North. -
Be interesting to see how Johnson, England's best right back copes.
-
This boy is a cracker and speaks fluent English. I think we may have a better footballer. He seems to have terrific vision and a high tempo. I think he will do well.
-
He shouldn't need to strike. Tell him and Liverpool £25m and he can go. Otherwise he has played his last game for Southampton and don't come to Staplewood unless called in. He will be informed in due course what is happening. If he doesn't go to Liverpool he will be loaned outside the Premier League, a replacement is being brought in. If he changes his mind in due course and wants to be part of the club let us know. It will be considered if the squad of 25 isn't finalised.

A football team is a funny old thing to paraphrase Jimmy Greaves, one minute it is performing far better than everybody expected because the blend/chemistry between the players is top notch then for no apparent reason it can't buy a result. It's where we are, towards the end of the season after Rodriguez was injured we were basically one paced and struggling to score. Lallana now says he was watching Liverpool, he hadn't been tapped up had he? we were pretty poor at home to Liverpool, coincidence? Lambert was a good player on borrowed time but the Liverpool interest in him virtually finished him as a Saints player. Shaw was a no brainer once he played for England, he was going, the offer was too good for a left back, still work in progress, for both him and the club. Now Lovren kicking off, £25m is a good price for him good riddance. Schneiderlin may stay, I've not heard of a serious bid yet. Usual Spurs crap and Arsenal targeting Khedira as no1 allegedly. At least he has spoken to Koeman. As far as I am concerned players who don't want to be part of our team will do more harm than good and would make it impossible for the team to perform at it's best. All the squad have got to want to play for us, there is no room for malingerers. As far as Lovren is concerned and as Liverpool appear desperate again we should inform him not to report back and we will let him know in due course where he will be going as we are bringing in a replacement. £25m and he can join Liverpool, otherwise as things stand he has played his last game for Saints and will be loaned out unless things change drastically and he wants to play. Put the ball in his court.

Probably tried to pass.

Best of luck Mike. Ron has your message. -
Do we really want the extra exposure to one club if we sell them three players, total over £50m? What will Lovren do on 1st September if we haven't transferred him?
