We were in to 2-1 to sign him on BetVictor earlier this evening before they suspended betting on the market. Trouble is it's a tiny market so even a few people betting can change the odds dramatically. Not sure there's much we can read into them.

This isn't unique to the Premier League. Any team is unwilling to sell to teams in the same league for any price. It's seen as strengthening their own direct rivals, especially by the fans. It seems more pronounced here because there's so much money available, meaning the price gets ridiculously inflated to stop this strengthening of direct rivals. Also because the Premier League is seen as the best league in the world, and is English speaking (becoming more and more a universally learned language), meaning foreign players are far more willing to move here than the other way round.

Well, any value the thread might have had is long gone now.

So, all this good weather... Now all of a sudden there are thunderstorms coming. One of his names had better be Thor.

As it happens, the mods do this for free and have day jobs! Please try to stay on topic everyone.

Well, no one expected that.

Chelsea had a bid turned down for Rooney then. Seems they're not happy with their current striking options.

THAT is why Test Cricket is the best form of the game.

What I'll always remember about Chaplow is going mental when he scored that goal against Man Utd.

Nothing on Hotspot? Didn't seem to be much of a sound either. Obviously he hit it looking at replays, but maybe Broad genuinely didn't realise he had? Reckon he should have walked if he did know, but perhaps a bit more understandable that he didn't considering the other howlers that have gone against us. Having said that, Umpire should have taken any decision out of Broad's hands. Australia wasted their reviews needlessly as well.

So, does this count as stealing another Liverpool target?

Yeah, it was Kelvin that did it the first time, and it's reoccurred a couple of times since. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swindon_town/8993451.stm http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/9377074.Charlie_Austin_fitness_boost_for_Burnley/ Have to feel for the guy, being that close to a move to the Prem. Isn't he a Saints fan as well? Seem to remember something along those lines when we were in for him.

Joint favourites to sign him with Spurs at 7/4 now. If we're able to agree a fee, wonder how much his agents will want for a deal to go through...

Higuain for Arsenal by the look of it. (wrong thread maybe?)

About the only thing that you can say about our kits historically is that they've always had red and white. I don't really care what it looks like beyond that, as long as it means I can pick out which team is ours and they're not going to make it difficult for the players to see each other. (Grey kits heh!) Whether I like a kit or not is pretty much decided after the event, depending on what the people wearing them did on the pitch and which memories seeing that kit bring back.
