  1. http://www.thefa.com/england/mens-under-21s/News/2013/euro-2013-squad-announcement.aspx Huge congratulations to them both
  2. Well that seems to make things clearer as to why there's the speculation now. Natural break, so there's bound to be negotiation.
  3. http://goo.gl/lxsXD Some lucky guesses with that one heh.
  4. Oh you poor thing, haven't you realised by now it's the hope that kills?
  5. So, seems to be a dispute over transfer funds being made available?
  6. as they do with anyone who says anything that they dont want to read. Yes, because everything that we don't want to read/believe has been true. Obviously. Lots of negative stories have appeared about Saints over the years. Not all of them have been true. I'm taking a wait and see approach. Could well be that a journo has stuck his oar in during the middle of a negotiation that will work out fine, could be that we're about to have to weather a big storm, or anything in between.
  7. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22510420 BBC's take on it.
  8. Strange that this has appeared the day after we confirmed our safety. Still, papers don't get it all right, I'll take a 'wait and see' view on this one for now.
  9. It's still a mad mad season where with one game remaining, we can finish anywhere from 10th to 18th. (OK, OK, but even 10th - 17th realistically is a huge range with one game left.)
  10. So with one game to go, we can still (just about) finish anywhere from 10th to 18th. This is a mad mad season.
  11. Get IN! Get another one and we've gone from 17th to 11th in a matter of minutes!
  12. If their fans are arguing as much as this you could probably say it's already been a success
  13. 'Tis only my opinion, who knows, maybe it'll get traction, properly take off and the next generation of Pompey fans will get dragged along to Fratton Park, good luck to em if it does.
  14. No, just that aspect of it. They didn't need to use that sort of negative marketing at all, playing on Fratton Park's percieved atmosphere is just one of any number of positive slants they could have used.
  15. Of course they can do both. But they haven't.
  16. No, I'm saying that pretending Fratton Park has a great atmosphere is a better marketing tool than trying to convince people they shouldn't stay in on a Saturday and watch Sky Sports.
  17. I see that my points went completely over your head. I'm not making the point that "it's a disgrace," every one of my points is my opinion that the marketing isn't the best way for them to get people through the gate.
  18. Facepalm the :facepalm:ers eh? Kids in Pompey aren't idiots that don't know the difference between reality and TV. Pompey being on TV isn't going to be a major reason for people to not go this season. Telling customers why they shouldn't stay at home, instead of saying why they should go isn't good marketing. Using language generally reserved for charity ads ("Don't let....") isn't the right message for Pompey to be putting across at the moment. It's a nice little soundbite, but that doesn't mean it's good marketing.
  19. What was it they were saying a few days ago about repelling the likes of Chelsea from 'stealing' their youth players?
  20. Completely out of the question that those kids have actually done a bit of exercise and played football then?
  21. Realistically, no, but it's still possible if we lose our final game (very!) heavily and Wigan win against Villa.
  22. Wow. That really is a tough sanction. So, free transfers only? I reckon they're already in a relegation battle. Who knows, maybe in FM17 you'll be able to use them for Dafuge's Challenge. (Which would be funny, as I believe it's a Pompey supporter that started that one)
  23. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22459815 I need to think of some brand new expletives for this level of stupidity
