Brilliant game, some of the best football we've played all season. Lambert MOTM by far for me. His first touch was flawless all game.

Harry Redknapp England Manager by the end of the week?

And here was me thinking most Pompey fans were just as gutted he's been found not guilty as we are...

I wonder if we'll find out what Storrie's verdict was now.

I guess you lot are the experts on what empty stadiums sound like.

Aye, that's the other possibility, that they haven't even tried.
-
It's because they can't prove that it'd be beneficial to creditors.

Their fans seem to think that Chanrai will eventually have to accept a lower value, a buyer will come in, and everything will be ok. Trouble with that is, there's no value in buying Pompey, only liabilities, so even a tiny amount for Chanrai from liquidation could well be more than any buyer is willing to pay.

I'll take that result.

Not so sure there aren't costs they incur with the game not going ahead. For example the programs will have to be reprinted, and a lot of the catering supplies will have to be thrown away.

Do I even have a choice in this any more?

Oh hey look, a nice round number of pages. As it's now starting to look more and more likely, I'm now wishing our resident Pompey supporters the best of luck with plan B. I genuinely mean that, the derby games, as rare as they are, are the games I absolutely look forward to most, and I'd like there to be at least the remote chance that at some point in the future, there's a chance they could happen again.

Would you be willing to donate for a piece of Jills Pussy?

Um, what? -
Way too busy now. The headlines being on the right used to make sense, as the tables etc, further to the right looked seperate. Now that they've bought the whole lot together a bit more, having the headlines right down the middle of the page just looks odd.

Don't FIFA completely oppose Government intervention in football?

There's very little incentive for a Pompey player to leave. Either they stick around, and their high wages keep getting paid if Pompey somehow survive, or Pompey go under, and they can join a club on higher wages than they would have due to no transfer fee.

Really good perfomance from the players, especially in the second half. Ref was weak. Would have taken those results at the start of the night, but a bit disappointed we're not top at the end of it.

This one's done.

This is a thread about Billy Sharp. Keep it on topic please.

That's the entire point of the WUP... because the HMRC isn't letting them build up the debt any more

Although no one is giving it as the reason for no player sales or it all going quiet on the new owners front, I reckon that Pompey are now trapped. They obviously don't have the money on hand to pay off the taxman. (They would have already if they did.) A company with a WUP against it can't sell assets. (That's probably the reason offers have been turned down.) A company with a WUP against it can't be sold itself. (Some parties are interested according to AA, but it probably doesn't matter now. Any party would have to pay off the HMRC to try and clear out the WUP before Pompey can be sold now.) Last time the escaped by going into administration, they probably can't this time, due to the existing CVA. (Probably the reason AA is saying that Admin is the last thing they're considering this time.) Their only chance is either someone comes in and donates money to pay off the taxman before they buy, or an existing interested party (ie. Chanrai) puts money in to keep them going, or they negotiate with the courts to allow a sale to go through, although that relies on finding a buyer that's actually willing to pay out for them, or they get a temporary reprieve by negotiating with the courts to allow player sales to go through so they can pay off the tax. Pompey's main problem with all of this is that HMRC have a say in every way that can save Pompey, as they can object in court, except for a donation, or Chanrai extending more credit to them. The first of those is unlikely to say the least, the second doesn't fix anything, just gives them a delay. HMRC objective here seems to be that they want Pompey liquidated. Their actions, ie. serving the WUP as soon as they had the chance, can't be interpreted any other way, so you can be sure they would object to anything short of a solution that means they get paid everything up front, and future tax payments are secured.

I'm actually working on something along those lines atm.
